The tail was being pushed by the winds so much I felt certain we were not going to be able to make a successful touchdown. Never felt an a/c yaw that much...

One method of dealing with a significant crosswind is to yaw in such a way that the aircraft would be pointing quite a bit away from straight down the runway; rectify the crab in the flare to the ground; and typically land first on the upwind wheel.

I’ve done that a few times but I don’t think I would try that in an Airbus!

I would request a different runway :)
