Yeah. the purpose of bond is to assure the accused shows up for trial; it is NOT intended to punish an accused person before conviction. If he had to pay a non-refundable $100,000 to get that bail, he has a real civil suit against a lot of folks.
I agree the prosecutor and the judge seem to be highly offended and pissed there are Zimmerman supporters sending him money for his defense and living expenses. They want him utterly destroyed.

Guess it’s time to start the next round of donations for GZ. This is beyond the pale. When the dust finally settles there had better be comparable fines for these legal criminals

The Martins need to raise $5 Million to offset the funeral costs and have already donated $250 to The Trayvon Scholarship Fund. They will also need the money for plastic surgery, new wardrobes, and grill work prior to the civil trial that will commence right after GZ is acquitted, but before he is put on a show "civil rights" trial by Eric Holder. I heard the Feds are refurbishing Dr. Mudd's old cell on Tortuga Island.
Basically, I think they may stall this thing until after Election Day. That would be the most efficient to handle it. That way, there will only have to be one national riot, combining the Zimmerman Acquittal Riot with the Republican Victory Protest Riot.

Compare that degree of separation to the reason the first judge appointed in the case, Jessica Recksiedler, recused herself:

NeJame said on television that his firm had been approached to represent Zimmerman, but that he had declined, choosing to do television commentary instead. He said he had recommended lawyers to Zimmerman, who chose O’Mara.
This contemptible Lester critter obviously should be thrown off the bench and disbarred.
Judges get to claim that they’re immune to just about anything that would cause a juror to get stricken. It’s a sick, sick joke.
FWIW, I don’t think Singapore honors extradition requests from the USA.

The bail bond company takes a high fee for putting up the money. The fee is the interest and risk premium the bond company charges. While Zimmerman gives the bail bondsman $100,000 the bondsman hands over to the court the entire $1 million. If Zimmerman skips bail, the court keeps the $1 million and the bail bondsman loses the million he put up for Zimmerman. If Zimmerman skips bond and is recaptured the court does not pay back the forfeited bond so the bondsman must collect from Zimmerman who likely will never have the means to repay.
The bondsman wins if Zimmerman doesn’t skip bail and goes to trial. When the trial is over the court gives the bondsman back the $1 million. He keeps the money Zimmerman paid up front as his fee. Given the risk 10% doesn’t seem unreasonable for the loan.

Why do you think Zimmerman will be acquitted, as these are Floridians making these decision. They don’t a track record for sound judgment, do they? If so, I missed that.

My guess is that his voting preferences are going to change as a result of this too. The dems, including Obama, have not only thrown him under the bus, they are following along with a Mack Truck to run him down and finish the job.
As a Native Texan, I can say that I believe Texas would have fought this race baiting, PC, attempt by the admin and its minions to villafy a citizen who perpoerly protected himself.
And those New Black Panthers who came down ther dressed in cammo and placing a bounty on the head of this man would have ended up either in jail, dead, or simply evicted from the state with a stern warning not to come back. But option two, followed by option one of they resisted would have been the best solution.

Teddy, you have a point. The mind-numbing heat causes most Floridians to have at least 50 fewer IQ points than normal Americans ... even from the acknowledged dumber areas of our great land. A simple visit to any FL Wal-Mart will scientifically demonstrate that. Mind you don't slip on the crap the tattooed fat people leave behind in the parking lot.
However, just as a blind hog can often find an acorn in the woods, Zimmerman's lawyers may have the good fortune to come up with 2, possibly 3 jurors who can read and write on the same day and who are not African-American Postal Employees enjoying full pay while on jury duty. That might give them a hung jury. With any luck at all, the jury might even be 6 African-Americans wearing Trayvon (Copyright) hoodies, and 6 Peruvian-Indian-German-Americans, although the latter ethnic group does not seem to be very thick on the ground.
Failing an acquittal, or a hung jury, there is always Dershowitz on the appeal. He's interested.
Ive never used or known someone to use a bondsman. I assumed there was a fee but I didn't expect it was 10%. That's pretty insane.
