If he didn’t run when the bail was $150,000, why raise his bail to $1 million?

It’s obvious to me that the judge is really pissed that Zimmerman has the funds to defend himself, and he’s doing his best to burn through those funds so he can’t.

As I understand it, the $100,000 dollar portion Zimmerman has to fork over for bail, will never be returned. So guilty or not, Zimmerman has so far paid out $115,000 dollars for bail. That’s essentially $115,000 in fines before he’s found guilty of anything.

There but for the grace of God go you and I. What’s going on with regard to Zimmerman angers me.

Yeah. the purpose of bond is to assure the accused shows up for trial; it is NOT intended to punish an accused person before conviction. If he had to pay a non-refundable $100,000 to get that bail, he has a real civil suit against a lot of folks.
