I love it when leftists meddle with free markets until they’re screwed up, and then exclaim, “Capitalism just doesn’t work!”
Exactly.
It is interesting how they have no answer as to what will replace the system of individual freedom. Individual rights to property and trade are fundamental parts of capitalism, and the freedom to with hold one’s services without the force of government, or as Ayn Rand would say, “force on man”, which amounts to slavery at the point of a gun. Is this what the hippies wanted to replace capitalism?
And actually the term ‘capitalism’ is a term invented by Marx, I believe. We have a ‘Free Market’, which is instrumental in the exercise of individual rights and liberty.
The hippies are just a small distance from saying how individual liberties will have to be put as secondary to ‘the good of the people’.
I wonder how the hippies will feel about being forced to go work on a pipeline somewhere in Alaska?
It will end as it always ends—mass graves and blood. This time America will get a chance to find out what its like to live in a controlled state and suffer the jack boot of oppression.
