Brad Pitt's Mother Slams Obama, Gay Marriage
Access Hollywood ^ | July 6, 2012 | Access Hollywood/Staff

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brad Pitt has long been an advocate for gay rights (initially vowing to hold off on marrying longtime love Angelina Jolie until gay marriage became legal nationwide), but his mother, Jane Pitt, apparently takes a different stance on the issue.

In a letter penned for her local newspaper, Jane urged Christian voters not to be put off by candidate Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith, as he still maintains conservative views in line with Christian beliefs despite his differing religion — including his posture on gay marriage and abortion.

“I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon,” she wrote in the opinion piece for The Springfield News-Leader this week.

Jane added that “any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

While the letter may seem harsh to some, Brad has previously said his mother means no harm.

“She’s very, very loving — very open, genuine, and it’s hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview back in January. “There’s not an ounce of malice in her.

“She wants everyone to be happy,” the actor noted.

“You go ahead and “ Stand your ground “ while I vote for Romney . Doubt he would write up EO’s at his leisure ergo slapping your sacred cow Senate in the face again . And again . I’m voting for Romney . I’ll put it in caps if you still dont get it.”

Sir, you are a fool if you even remotely think Romney is the answer. BTW - IF we can get control of both House and Senate, then Mr. Obama can and will be impeached in the House and tried and convicted in the Senate for going beyond his constitutional limits. I again quote Jim Robinson:

“By the way, I’m 100% certain that with a conservative majority in the house and senate we can and will impeach and remove and expel the treasonous usurping criminal conspiracy aka Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi & Co., including a whole passel of corrupt/usurping congress critters, government officials and judges/justices.”

Once again....challenge him and call him unrealistic or “Fantasm”, etc. See what happens sparky!

Should you, and I doubt it will happen, get Romney elected...he will just do the same things Obama has done, just in a more sneaky manner and won’t have a congress to stand up to him because of “party loyalty.” It will negate gains in the House and Senate by conservatives.

“It’s not a protest.. IT’S SURRENDER. There is no argument. There is no debate. Good luck explaining it to your grandchildren when they ask you why you didn’t vote to rid America of the force that ruined America. Selfish egotists, that’s what you are.”

Jim, I am sorry to bother you, but once again there are folks still messing with the “revolution” here on FR. Because, just as you, I refuse to support Romney...I am slandered by them. Please review some of the things these two have said on this thread by these two especially.

They are not merely content to express an ABO position, they feel compeled to slander those that won’t.

The unalienable rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are now “self-righteous principles?”

Good Lord. What have we become? Slaves to overbearing government?

Romney is a statist. An abortionist/homosexualist statist!

The abortion and homosexual agenda thing is obvious, but maybe you’re missing the fact that his signature achievement as governor was to impose a compulsory socialist health care system complete with mandates and penalties (or taxes) against the formerly free citizens who refuse to go along with tyranny. And, yes, the government forcing it’s subjects, er, free citizens into contracts against their will is tyranny and it is a violation of our fundamental constitutional rights and is antithetical to the founders intentions and vision for a free republic. Don’t look now but that’s exactly what ObamaCare does and why freedom loving patriots are up in arms against HIS tyranny!

Obama is a statist. ObamaCare is statism. Look it up.

statism - the theory or practice of concentrating economic and political power in the state, resulting in a weak position for the individual or community with respect to the government

Statism is where the government controls the economy and restricts economic freedom. Well, that’s exactly what ObamaCare does.

And guess what, that’s exactly what RomneyCare does.

And it doesn’t end there. Obama and Romney both agree that the bailouts were good ideas and more may be needed. They both love TARP. They also both agree that government stimulus spending is necessary and good and that more may be needed. Again, government controlling or trying to control the economy is statism. Obama is a statist. Romney is a statist. They advocate the exact same thing: Controlling/restricting our economic freedom and not only limiting our choices but demanding that we purchase specific government approved products only. And worse, in this case, charge a tax penalty if you refuse to purchase anything at all.

C’mon people, resisting tyranny of this sort is not stubbornness and these are not “self-righteous” principles. Economic freedom is one of our fundamental founding principles. Without economic freedom, there is no Liberty! Likewise, without the right to life, there can be no Liberty!

Obama cares nothing about our God-given unalienable rights, and by HIS actions and well-known advocations regarding abortion, the homosexual agenda, gun control, liberal judges, compulsory healthcare, mandates against the people, etc, Romney obviously doesn’t appreciate our rights either!!

Romney is a statist just exactly like Obama!! It’s steeped into his psyche. That’s what he is and where he goes when making decisions. The state reigns supreme in his inner conscience. He’ll take us to the exact same place that Obama is taking us to and it will be a place where government controls the economy and limits your freedom!! Only in Romney’s case, the Republicans will be willing to go along.

Not only no, but Hell no, I will not trade one statist for another just like him!!

Free Republic was founded to fight against this kind of corruption and tyranny. I’ll be damned if we’re going to knuckle under to either of these statist tyrants!!

Romney can KMA!! Obama can KMA!! The GOP-e can KMA!!

Don’t tread on me!!

By the way, and this statist tyranny (ObamaCare / RomneyCare) was exactly the reason the tea party sprang up. It would be a shame and a disgrace if tea partiers now wimp out and support a proven statist tyrant like Romney!!

We are the resistance!!

Thank you very much dearest Jim.

I don't give a rip how others vote, but my vote is mine, and I've said all along, that I'm not voting for Romney.

Free Republic hasn't changed, so this talk about "what has FR become?" isn't valid.

I'm all about trying to elect TEA PARTY candidates to the US House and Senate, to block liberal legislation, no matter which liar wins the WH. God help us save our Republic.

BTW, I remain in serious prayer for a miracle in Tampa.

Must leave now for the pool. SYL. God bless and keep you all.

Ditto. There are several local, state, congressional and senate candidates that I am supporting with as much energy and finances as possible.
I just cannot in good conscience vote for Romney.

I hear you, Mr. Robinson—Just don’t know what to do about it! Apparently the TEA Party isn’t going to offer a candidate for whom we can vote-————

You ask me why I believe that President Obama could be impeached then convicted in the Senate IF we can gain a strong conservative control of both chambers. First of all I will quote Jim Robinson:

“By the way, I’m 100% certain that with a conservative majority in the house and senate we can and will impeach and remove and expel the treasonous usurping criminal conspiracy aka Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi & Co., including a whole passel of corrupt/usurping congress critters, government officials and judges/justices.”

I have nothing but respect of the “office” of POTUS as I do the constitution. Mr. Obama has clearly exceeded, on numerous occasions, his constitutional authority in regards to the intended limitations on the authority of POTUS set forth in the COTUS. IF, of course that is a big IF, enough dedicated conservatives can be elected in both the House and Senate, I fully believe they will properly use the power of the Congress to put in check the Executive branch. Mr. Obama is only still POTUS because most of the current members of House and Senate either back him or lack the courage to remove him IAW the COTUS. Placing a person that is not a COTUS purist (and much worse) like Mr. Romney in office will render this moot....and could destroy it because his own party members will not oppose him out of “party loyalty.”

Of course, if by some unseen miracle, a true conservative could come out of the RNC instead of Mr. Romeny....then sanity and order could be returned to the Office of POTUS. This WILL NOT happen as long as Romney is the GOPe nominee.

“There are several local, state, congressional and senate candidates that I am supporting with as much energy and finances as possible.”

I am fortunate that I have the opportunity here to help eliminate a liberal democrat senator with a conservative republican, and to help keep a conservative republican congresswoman elected in 2010 in office. I am focusing my energies there as you suggest. Romney is just a distraction from where one’s focus should be. He is a disgrace to the conservative cause, and I will never support or vote for him.

Jim...”Ben Bolt” is of course entitled to think “he shall not be named” is better than a marxist. A common ABO position.

However, I do not believe he should be able to get away with calling me a “troll.” I am many things, but a “troll” is NOT one of them. The post is personally insulting and way beyond mere disagreement. He is impling that I am working for the other side. I am the conservative I claim to be.

Well, we must each vote our conscience, but please do not do as some of the others have and attack those of us who defend our constitution and our founding principles as “Obama supporters,” etc. That is a false charge (a bald faced lie) and they know it.

FR was founded to fight against such goverment tyranny and corruption as we see in Obama and Romney and we’re not going to change to suit the GOP-e wannabe masters.

Those who can’t live with FR the way we’ve always been and intend to stay should bail out.

We ain’t changing.

What on Earth makes you believe that?

Because he has principles the rest of America is clueless about . Some kind of secret cloak or something . I see maybe 6 members of the Senate who dont shave there chest and he thinks there is an impeachment looming .

Maybe you can make some sense to this ... principled object . I’m fini .
