I have a German Shepherd. I never worry about locking my doors. I’m pretty sure he’d kill an intruder by about the time I got my safety lock off. Even the professional trainer I hired said multiple times, “he’d kill for you.” I don’t think I’d ever have to shoot an intruder. We figured out my dog isn’t aggressive, doesn’t have fear aggression, he has protect mom aggression. Nice to know I’m loved.

How could I be a liberal? I went to the door with a weapon in hand and shot an etnic person that seemed suspicious? That’s being a liberal?

Well, okay, so the reason so many cops come to your door is over funding.
And all these years I thought they just hung out at the donut shop.
Hmmm, maybe it's not over funding, but too much caffeine.

Doorbell ringers/burglar wanabees used to be a problem, but that nonsense stopped when I made the habit of responding to uninvited visitors at my front door, with a magnum revolver on my hip. I do not exaggerate when I say it's been years since anybody has darkened my door selling crap or “looking for Jazmeen.”

That was my plan for my ex-husband ;)

Your life can become a lot better if you keep people away from your HOME.

I advise everyone, avoid the police, don’t publish your real address, and secure your property from anyone wandering up to the front door. Public place is anywhere a person could reasonably walk unimpeded. The FENCE, The LOCK, The GATE all have legal meaning.
No one arrives at my house unexpected, few know my real location, and not even my MOM would come by without me knowing first.

A couple of incidents have happened at this house.
I mentioned them to a policeman acquaintance. He asked if I had reported them. I answered, “No.”
He said, “Report them. That’s why we’re here.”

He was physically and emotionally abusive. I wasn’t of the “battered woman” mindset.

How would they prove it? Step 1 is for the police to catch you in a lie, any lie. If you're talking, that's actually pretty easy.
Step 2 is for the DA to convince the jury that if you lied about one thing, you're probably lying about everything.
Perhaps your defense attorney can get you off by arguing that you weren't lying. You were just confused from the stress of the incident. Then you're home free, except for your legal bills. And don't forget, after the criminal trial comes the civil trial. The intruder's family will probably sue you. More legal bills.
But perhaps your attorney won't be able to convince the jury that you were just confused, and not lying. Then you'll do 5 to 10 years for murder.
Moral of the story: Don't use deadly force unless you absolutely have to. And if you must talk to the police, don't lie.

stuartcr, you are posting opinions that are simply murderous, and are not representative of FR.
I doubt that most of us here advocate luring people into our homes so we can kill them and get away with it. It’s certainly nothing I ever desire to do. Killing people is not sport.

Suspicious activity. Report it. It probably was no mistake. They are likely casing your house. Don't let the fact they are black intimidate you into feeling "racist" for reporting it. People do not normally show up at your door at 7:15AM unless they know you personally, know where you live, and have a darn
good reason for showing up at such an hour.
Next time, bring your 1911 along in case they decide to force their way in.
