SEMINOLE, FLA - Florida fire fighters say the city apparently got two complaints about American flags being flown from fire trucks. The flags were not a safety issue, and they were not tattered or torn. But when the complaints came the flags were gone.
A dozen demonstrators stood outside a Seminole fire station waving American flags Sunday. They say they were there because fire fighters were banned from flying old glory on their trucks.
A spokeswoman for Seminole Fire Rescue said the city is trying to be sensitive about the proper display of the American flag.
Someone allegedly complained to the city about a large American flag being flown from the back of a ladder truck.

Crap like this makes me sick!
A flag is always flown, given a light source and given respect. It is actually against Flag rules, yes we have them, to put a flag sticker on a flat surface and other signs of disrespect are not allowed.
Other people might disagree, but putting a 'flag' sticker on a fire truck is not something I hold on high regard.
I emailed the chief. Will let you know if I get a response.

I wonder how they’ll respond when 10,000 people complain that there are no American flags on their trucks? How about 30,000?....... 1,000,000????

So, one or two moonbats complain about the display of an American flag on a fire truck, and some spineless fool caves into their absurd demand and removes the American flags? Bizarro world.
The firefighters should have refused to remove the flags. What are their superiors going to do? Fire them all and leave the community without fire protection?
Just once, I'd like to hear some official say... "Screw off, whiner. They're staying up. You don't like it? Move elsewhere!"

Thanx for the post.I’m a lifelong resident of Tampa Bay and was totaly unaware of this issue.Just called Chief Besslers office(got his voice mail-not surprised:).Left him a polite message expressing my dissapointment.A little pushback can work wonders.
I emailed him but haven’t received a response yet.
