Sheriff Joe is just fine. He does his job as best he can. He wants to punish crooks and liars and cheats and protect the innocent. He’s very caring and compassionate. He’s not going to come across as a sweet, gentle soul most of the time because he is a strong fighter. Chesty Puller looked p.o’d most of the time, too, but his job wasn’t sitting under an umbrella selling cookies for the Girl Scouts, either.
But joe is trying to lead a movement. I have no doubt he is all you say he is. I am just saying that his style is not that of a leader in today’s media world.
If you want to come across as believable you need to address the questions of the biased media with facts, and wit. Appearing like you should be chomping a cigar and barking at anyone who dares to question you is not going to win hearts and minds. As soon as he growls 60% of the country shuts their ears.
