Voters by and large believe that President Obama's economic policies have contributed to the persistent malaise in the economy, according to a new poll.

The CBS/New York Times survey finds that 64 percent of voters believe that Obama's policies have contributed significantly or somewhat to the persistent weakness in the economy.

...

Obama's relentless assault on Mitt Romney's business record are also showing no real signs of significantly shaping the race. Sixty percent of voters say that Bain makes no difference, while 23 percent say it makes them less likely to vote for him. Seventy-three percent of voters say that Romney's wealth makes no difference.

Romney gets better marks on handling the economy, with 49 percent of voters saying he would do a better job than Obama. Romney also has an advantage among voters on the budget deficit, taxes, and illegal immigration. Voters trust Obama more on foreign policy and social issues. Obama has only a one point advantage over Romney on handling of terrorism issues, 44 to 43 percent.

I like the trend....

Obama Team must be pulling their hair out. The democrat convention is not going to be anything special, Pelosi herself said that it was no big deal, they have their candidate. The GOP convention WILL be something, and I expect Romney to get a decent bounce out of it, which should give him a significant lead, which, fates be kind, will carry him through November.

“64 percent of voters believe that Obama’s policies have contributed significantly or somewhat to the persistent weakness in the economy. “

This statement tells me that Obama is done. There’s only two ways he can win:

1. Massive cheating and election fraud on a scale not seen before in this country.

2. Declare martial law and suspend the election.

I think most people want to be rich themselves. I know I do
and seems like Obama the Middle Class warrior and his wife the most beautiful woman in the world with best arms ever does- she wears $600.00 shoes come on and those are her gardening shoes.

This is good news. Now, if I can pour some water on the embers, if Oblunder does get beat by Willard, we will still have a, probably, worse than GWB in the White House.

Worse than GWB? Yeah, probably so. And yet, it'd still be an improvement.

It's a sad thing to contemplate, but that's where we stand.

Absolutely correct! Hussein can’t run on his pathetic record - what has he got - 0bamascare and everyone hates it, so the only thing left is to attack Romney.

Obama's goose is cooked.

If this is accurate the goose is burnt to ashes.

Barry isn’t that old. He’ll be blaming President Bush for everything bad that happens for the rest of his life. Americans better get used to telling the Kenyan bull****!

It's not just the policies, destructive as they are. It's the way Obama is constantly running down business people as individuals.

The reason this economy is not recovering is that the entrepreneurial function has gone dormant. People still have as many productive ideas as ever, they just aren't acting on them. Why should they, when succeeding will only make them a target? This is why, unlike with most presidents, we should hold Obama personally responsible for the weakness of the economy.

Where are the idiots that keep banging the ‘Romney can’t win’ drum? There should be little doubt by now that Obama is the one who can’t win.

Hopefully, he'll choose a running mate that will make that an easier pill to swallow.
