George W. Bush skipping Republican National Convention
Politico ^ | July 20th, 2012 | Johnathan Martin

Former President George W. Bush will not attend the Republican convention next month in Tampa, POLITICO has learned.

“President Bush was grateful for the invitation to the Republican National Convention,” Bush spokesman Freddy Ford wrote in an e-mail. “He supports Governor Romney and wants him to succeed. President Bush is confident that Mitt Romney will be a great President. But he’s still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa.”

Asked if the former president had been invited to only attend or whether he was also asked to speak, Ford said the conversation didn’t get that far and the former president declined “before details were discussed.”

Uh, no. I am more than willing to assign blame where it is due. It's simply your willingless to parrot Dem talking points that I find annoying.

I am so sorry Harry Browne did not get the nomination. Seriously, I'm sorry . . . I can see how it's affected you.

Anyone, dems and repubs, who supported the Community Reinvestment Act bears considerable blame.

The dems get sole blame for thwarting efforts at Fannie and Freddie - Barney Frank at the top of the list.

“I am more than willing to assign blame where it is due.”

Start with Medicare Part D. Take your time. We’ll wait.

Sounds to me like you are making excuses. The old blame Bush routine.

I'm glad Bush was President at 9/11. He provided comfort and hope to a docked and grieving nation.

Had Obama been president, he would have apologized to the terrorists and tell Americans it was all our fault.

You mean when he declared Islam a religion of peace? Yeah that really set folks at ease.

John Roberts was because people had hysterics about Harriet Miers, who may have been the better candidate.

Bush’s biggest failing was that he was too polite and too concerned about what people - both left and right - thought about him.

I’m concerned. Does all your anti-Bush spleen and venom give you an upset stomach sometimes?

Not surprised in the least. This dope is still politically toxic nearly four YEARS after he left office and for good reason. The harm he inflicted on our country will take a long time to heal from.

Screw you.

Sheesh put down the bottle and do a google search. You’re a bit off on the timing and names.

“Sounds like Bush Derangement Syndrome.”

I agree.
No offense Kantian as I see you have been here a long time; but that sounds like something a Occupier would say.

An “Occupy” leftist would point out how unconservative TARP was, how Medicare Part D was a disgrace, that Bush called the Minute Men vigilantes, that Bush supported Ted Kennedy’s NCLB act??

Amnesty didn't happen. Mier's isn't on SCOTUS either. CFR? That tin foil hat is too tight.

Bush is a gentleman for knowing he is "political poison" and staying in the background.

I suspect Sarah Palin may have the same thoughtful calculation regarding any public involvement in the race vs. Obama.

Some people know the stakes are too high to feed the Democrat machine any thing unnecessarily.

People want to heap all our nations problems and shortcomings on who we nominate for President. Bush was far from perfect.
But we have a vast slice of the populace who don't share our views. A Reagan is the best type we will ever get nominated.
We will never get a pure conservative as some here would like.
