It IS about time to get serious and let people defend themselves. They were “sitting ducks”. Isn’t this the “land of the free”? Why do politicians act to severely restrict or bar people from self-defense and when those politicians actions expose Americans to these tragedies, call for even more oppressive controls?
Gun control: Universal training in the use and maintenance of sidearms, whose purpose is to stop and/or disarm assailants or malefactors in situations where armed police authority is not immediately present. Training includes drawing out loaded weapon, preparing it for firing by releasing the safety, aiming and discharging the weapon to good effect.
The widespread prevalence of sidearms tends to make people much more circumspect and polite in each other’s presence.
Using the gun to control bad behavior is highly effective.
