I don’t think there are any limits on ammo purchases that he would have run afoul of.
I would have no trouble buying that much ammo. I probably have that much ammo now, if you count it all up.
A 1,000 round case is a commonly purchased amount of .223 or 5.56 ammo. Or even .40 S&W.

For all we know so far, his body armor might have been cheap junk.

LEOs absolutely mentioned a second person being detained and a search underway for another.
I am a bit skeptical of Aurora police officers. Though I do believe without a doubt they have the sick SOB killer. He stood there after.
40 innocent citizens cuffed. The ends justify the means cops? Nope, I don't trust them much.

What I want to know is where did the kid get tear gas? Explosives? Body Armor? You can't mail order this stuff. I know by looking at bullet proof vests for the hell of it a couple months ago. Are you thinking a domestic "Fast and Furious" sting gone awry again?

If he was it was VERY recent or illegally.
As a grad student you have an opportunity to work for the university in the research program for the programs that you’re studying,” university spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said. “He worked in the neurosciences program. It is a paid position.”

After high school, Holmes received a bachelors degree in neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside, but could not find a job after returning to San Diego several years ago. For a year or so, he worked part-time at a McDonalds, according to Tom Mai, who lives near the Holmes family in San DiegoRiverside in 2010 with a
bachelors degree in neuroscience,

That interests me. I know there are exits out of these theaters, not through the theater itself, but just outside of a group of entrances, that bypass lobbies, usually opening into parking lots. But, shouldn’t the emergency exit alarm when it is opened?

If he had an inside accomplish who got his call on cell phone, it opens up an incredible amount of creepy possibilities.

There is another FR post indicating huge quantities of ammo bought and around $15,000 spent. Look for it.

Also a week before the UN vote on the small arms treaty! Something is really wrong here.I thought of that right away.

If it was the audio Daily Mail made available, it was “scoped”, with the parts between transmissions removed. Nevertheless, all the responding agencies did an excellent job.

Was thinking same. Yes; the ‘missing piece’ or pieces. Remember the missing/mystery. . . ‘Middle Easterner’ turned up; years later in Massachusetts? Or some such. . .

Well, they may easily have gotten the call, from some 'nutcase' who wants only wants to cast his 'hilarious' shadow; somewhere tween the newsbytes; but this does not mean; that THE person of interest, made the call. Which; is simply; unlikely.
(Easy to assume 'overlay' or connection; but need not be. . .again; 'crank calls' expected, from those mentally; 'at large'. Pathetic; there are so many. . .)
