Yesterday afternoon, 28-year-old Dave Mullins and 31-year-old Charlie Craig stopped by Lakewood's Masterpiece Cakeshop to order their wedding reception cake -- what they hoped would be a rainbow-layered masterpiece decked out in teal and red frosting (their ceremony colors). Although they'll be reciting their vows in Provincetown, Massachusetts, in September, the couple plans to celebrate with a reception for friends and family in Denver in October.

“Does Denver have gay inclusive non-discrimination laws? If yes, the owners of the cakeshop need to close up shop and move their assets overseas. They will shortly be getting a short letter from the ACLU, and the next several years will be spent in nerve wracking court battles. Also personal harassment, and protesters outside their shop.”
They likely do. And that is a horrific future for a poor businessman who was set up to be made an example of.
I sent them a short note. ;>)
I write in support of your decision not to take orders to build wedding cakes for homosexual weddings. That stance speaks highly of your business.
Cheers....
Dan
ps Perhaps you could offer some sort of a fruit pie for these misguided folks. ;>)
satanic cultural plague spreading like wildfire
Just charge them double! n/s
Brilliant! Mine was along the same lines, but I never thought of the ‘fruit pie’ bit. Duh on me.
Poof pastry.
LOL... I was born a smart-a, so I can’t help it.
LOL.....Had I thought of that, I certainly would have used it. ;>)
I think they went to that specific store on purpose, so as to be able to raise a stink about their "rights". They knew exactly what they were going to do.
Have people nothing better to do? Good golly.
I had something similar happen to me a couple of years ago. I was working at a college and had a small group of underprivileged high school kids, and the hs counselor had me talk to them about what programs we had to offer. I told them about our programs, transfer rate, and other activities. Then the counsellor asked me about groups, I then I replied that we had many organizations: Christian Fellowship, Black Student Union, and Latinos Unidos. “Any other clubs?”, she asked frustratingly, I then got the vibe that she wanted me to mention the gay group on campus, but being a practicing Catholic I don’t endorse the gay lifestyle to others because it goes agaisnt my beliefs so I responded, “Oh I forgot we have a Pro Life club here!”
Needless to say after my talk she confronted me and asked me why I didn’t plug the gay club, I responded that I forgot we had one. Then she laid into me saying that maybe some of her students were struggling with coming out and that I was doing a disservice by not mentioning it. I responded to her that we had many clubs and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of them, and that if any of her students were interested in our clubs that they could visit the website. She stormed away after that comment, and I thanked God that I got to keep my job and not get reported by the gay mafia for a “hate crime.”
These people are horrible because they are ashamed of themselves and their lifestyle - they will use intimdation, tryanny, and fear to have others “celebrate” their lifestyle. Won’t let us get married? We’ll force your church to marry us. Don’t want to bake us a wedding cake? Then we’ll tear your business down. Don’t want to endorse our lifestyle in the workplace? Then we’ll make damn sure you lose your job. The forceful celebration of homosexuality that is being wrought on us by the gay community and their allies aims to destroy traditional values and in the end anyone that doesn’t agree with them. This is very scary.
Well, I don’t buy Halo brand cat food because Ellen DeGenerate owns part of that company.
It’s probably also lousy cat food.
If the bakery doesn’t want to make a cake for these two idiots, either they can go to another bakery or buy a couple boxes of Duncan Hines.
Good enough to celebrate that type of travesty.
