Hell, I didn’t know she was a lesbian.
Didn’t matter enough for me to care apparently.

I had no idea and I could care less. What possible significance does this have to anything?

I think the majority of Americans are tired of the hype and the derision. No body cares anymore, they just don’t like it thrown in their faces time and time again.

Apparently, homosexuality trumps real accomplishment.

I wasn’t inclined to make a big deal out of Ride’s sexual orientation. It’s none of my business. Damn it, if others are going to make hay of it, then it should be okay if I address it too.
Evidently Ride wasn’t the first woman in space. She may or may not have been the first homosexual in space, I don’t know about that.
So who was the first woman in space, since they can’t resist claiming she was not one of the vast majority of women.
They are proud first about her being a homosexual. Why should I argue with that? She wasn’t a woman. She was a homosexual. Let them have it their way.

I did not write the story, but now we as a nation must contend with the reality that our government placed a lesbian in a position to be idolized by our young daughters.

You peel back all this women’s lib stuff and it’s basically women that hate men (and themselves).

She was private about her private life. I wish the rest were too. Leave her memory in peace.

Pardon me, Mr. Cunningham. I could not care less. Sorry if a slip of the keyboard offended you. I clutch the hem of your garment and beg your forgiveness.

I couldn't care less about Sally Ride's private life. It was her private life and nobody else' business.
As far as the people making a big deal out of it, though, you really can only feel sorry for people who define their entire existence by what they do with the thing between their legs.
