Ann Romney on recovering from MS, carrying the olympic torch in 2002
State-Controlled CNN ^ | July 27th, 2012

Broadcasting out of his native England, this evening Piers Morgan welcomes Mitt and Ann Romney for a candid and revealing conversation that comes alongside the 2012 Summer Olympic Games from London.

A decade since the Romneys helped host the 2002 Olympics in their home state of Utah, the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host walks the couple down memory lane:

"There was a very poignant moment, when you were asked to allow someone who was your hero, to hold the torch. And you chose your wife," reviewed Morgan. "Tell me about that."

We are hearing more and more about Ann Romney’s MS. She and Mitt talked about it with Pansy Morgan on CNN at great length. Now, we all can see that Ann is healthy and I hope she remains so. But her past illness provides a face-saving way for Mitt to bow out. If he leaves the race because of her, he’d be enhanced in stature. He’d get to be the American Edward VIII — giving up power for love — and the GOP would have the chance to trade him in for a conservative. It’d be perfect. After Ann “recovers,” Mitt could be tapped for the Palin cabinet.

Thanks to you both for giving my wife a laugh! The great thing about being delusional is you don’t know you’re crazy.

If Palin wanted the nomination, she should have run for it. No one should be nominated for President who failed to enter the primaries.

This is really getting to be very, very funny. I thought I had seen it all here but good God some people on here have gone completely insane. I’m convinced that it’s all a big joke, right? Nobody can actually think like this, can they? Am I going to wake up and all of this idiotic nonsense posted on here is going to be a dream?

So often in history someone emerges that not only fits the desperate needs of the time, but fulfills those needs with unanticipated success. George Washington and Abe Lincoln come to mind as does Reagan. Least we forget, Obama has made an administrative nightmare of rules, regulations and executive orders that will be very difficult to sort through and correct. Further, the country faces a host of problems not the least of which are social security, medicare, the deficit, the tax law, Dodd-Frank and of course, Obamacare. It is going to take a person of remarkable executive ability to manage the process of sorting through this mess and solving not only the problems that Obama has created (and nurtured), but also the problems that Obama, in his cowardice has kicked down the road. The one characteristic that we know about Romney is that he has demonstrated excellent executive abilities. It won’t be flashy and it won’t be an endless cascade of soundbites and spin. But I am coming to the view that he may be just what the country needs at this particular juncture. We need to get behind him because the risks threatened by another four years of Obama are vastly more frightening than the risk that Romney will not be able to resolve the majority of these problems.

Your analysis is well written, logical, sincere, and on target. I feel badly that you will receive some uncalled for vicious responses.

Romney’s business/executive experience, his educational background to include his JD, and MBA certainly seem to make him more qualified than Obama.

How embarassing for you...

Your boy Willie and Obama were classmates...

They both have JDs from Harvard...

WOW that makes Obama qualified to be POTUS...

Romney earning a JD/MBA in 1975, and Obama receiving his in 1991 hardly makes them classmates,

Also, I wasn't aware that Obama had a Masters in Business Administration, so as far as business experience, he has none.

There also something interesting going on here with these ABR folks. They travel in pack of two or three and can call in more if necessary. They are not afraid to post a dozen times or more in feeble attempts to convince people that there is no difference between Romney and Obama and the conservative thing to do is to let Obama win. What is interesting is this thread is posted twice with about 8 seconds between the two. Not really uncommon but what was uncommon was that the 1st reply is also repeated as if it were prepackaged. Word for word. Can someone tell me how something like this can happen, are we being played?

Yes and I did notice the duplicate thread where those two made the same ridiculous comments on the other. I have no idea what their intentions were except possibly to make fools of themselves twice within minutes.

I think you are on to something with this. Not only is the 1st reply identical word for word on the second posting - but the 2nd reply is identical too - by a different poster. What's up with that?

He’s like Edwards. He has a sick wife, but devotes his life to a quest for power. It’s not like he needs a job. He’s a sick piece of garbage.

Don’t invest any hopes in this creep.

Is there a way that a person can post under multiple names/accounts so they look like two, three or more people commenting? I know some of these ABR guys who stii wear RonPaul colors, are masters of the cut and paste and I think they may have been exposed!

Romney isn`t the primary candidate of choice, but he doesn`t deserve to be likened to Edwards by any stretch of the imagination. Unless, of course, you are in possession of evidence he bedded some ho` that we all haven`t heard of.

If Romney`s one thing, it`s faithful to his wife and family. Ann Romney has MS, which isn`t life-threatening, and with treatment, can be well-managed.

There`ll be no dramatic march onto the stage to demand nomination of someone else at the RNC, and come 6 Nov, either Romney or Obama will stand as the winner.
