How to reconcile this disagreement ?

There’s nothing to reconcile. Cheney was in the wrong. Violated Reagan’s 11th Commandment.

And what did Sarah do? She should of taken the high road and said something like “He is entitled to his opinions even if I disagree with them” instead of tying to be funny.

I'm just trying to find a plausible reason Cheney would express such feelings about Palin. I agree he's wrong.

Earlier history aside, and certainly an establishment Republican for his entire career, he exhibited the most steadfast conservative principles as VP. To my memory, this is the only disagreement I had with him since 2000, although as VP we probably don't know many of his unspoken positions while in office. I think the world of him and his family.
