The fastest kids when I was in 6th, 7th, 8th grade were girls, and I was one of them. The boys started winning in high school.
While girls do mature physically sooner than boys, I don’t really believe you. In my experience, it isn’t uncommon to see 13-year-old boys who can outpace even seasoned adult female athletes. I have seen this.
