Mitt Romney has a five-point edge over President Obama in the battleground state of North Carolina.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Tar Heel State finds Romney with 49% support, while the president earns 44% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and another four percent (4%) are undecided.

This moves the state from Toss-Up Status to Leans Romney in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.

It would be nice to be able to see the demographic and party affiliation breakdown, but not worth the money to subscribe.:)

Crap. That means his imperial majesty Comrade El Presidente Caliph Sheik Obama the First and his freeloading wife will make even more visits to our normal, quietly dying because of Democrats, state.

I drive home through a high dollar neighborhood and notice a lot of 20 somethings driving on the side roads in nice cars with Obama stickers. It just dawned on me today that they are living with their parents.

The number of Americans who consider themselves Republicans fell for the second straight month while the number of Democrats held steady.

During July, 34.9% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. That’s down from 35.4% in June and from 35.7% in May.

The number of Democrats held steady at 34.0%. That marks a partial recovery for the president’s party. In February, just 32.4% described themselves as Democrats, the lowest level ever measured by Rasmussen Reports. Still, while the 34.0% figure is the best for Democrats in 2012, it’s down from earlier years. "-Rasmussen Reports

Hard to believe there are 44 percent of the people in North Carolina who want to reelect a radical gay, poverty pimping, hate mongering, anti Christian, anti business, Occutardded, golfing, vacationing, half-witted extension of his teleprompter. Are they stupid? Have things gotten so much better for them the last three and 3/4 years they think they need four more years of the same?

“Hey snarky”

Ah, yes the name calling. So typical. IMHO Mitt is light years better than Obama.

About 20-21% of NC voters are black. Among the rest of the voting population it's around 2:1 against.

When the Republicans can get their act together and run somebody for office who isn't really a leftwingtard, that candidate will get plenty of Conservative votes.

But you have to try, and you haven't tried this time.

Romney only has demonstrable support from barely 8% of Republicans.

It won’t be that close in November. Remember the marriage amendment vote in NC earlier this year?

“Romney only has demonstrable support from barely 8% of Republicans.”

Huh! The polls do not bear that out. Hey, my first choice was Sarah. Then I supported Newt. Now reluctantly Mitt. Again, IMHO Mitt is much better than Obama and the reason I will be voting for Mitt in November. If one chooses to vote third party or not at all that only helps Obama.

Polls deal with only a handful of people, and as you know, pollsters lie. Primaries give everyone a chance. Mitt simply didn’t have a showing of any significance ~ compared to final election results.

Somebody explain to me how a 5 point advantage is only a leans Romney. Even with margin of error I would think 5 points more than covers the state is in a solid position for now.
