and Penn State football program allowed a sexual predator access to it’s facilities with full knowledge what was going on.

This is not true. After the 2001 incident Sandusky and the Second Mile were told not to bring Second Mile kids to the showers or the football facilities anymore.

This same football program is/was and continues to be blindly supported to act ad if it is above the law.

The same could be said of the Freeh Report because it reaches conclusions contrary to the facts that it presents, and never interviewed the major players.

You doubt me??? Read it --

So why was Sandusky sitting in the President's suite to watch JoePa win his 409th game? Oh yeah, did you also here Sandusky's phone call inviting one of the victims to attend that very same game? Sandusky had free access to the Penn State facilities and regularly brought kids to campus, and the field house after 2001.

Classic denial on your, and your brainwashed brethren's, part.

Typical Penn State fans when it comes to JoePa's and the University's failings with respect to child sex abuse...

Ask the President. He invited him. It's still a free country. And he had not been convicted of any crime.

Oh yeah, did you also here Sandusky's phone call inviting one of the victims to attend that very same game?

That's supposedly victim #2 right??? So did he attend???

Sandusky had free access to the Penn State facilities and regularly brought kids to campus, and the field house after 2001

If he brought them to the showers or the football facilities he was doing so contrary to what he was told by the Athletic Director and confirmed with the Executive Director of the Second Mile Jack Raykovitz who is a trained child psychologist, as the Freeh Report acknowledges.

Other than that how do you keep anybody off of a college campus???

Try looking at or listening to the Freeh Report or something of factual significance. Then go take your monkeys for a walk.

The NCAA had as much authority to punish Penn State athletics here as they would have to punish Notre Dame or Boston College for the Catholic priest scandal...

...it’s comments like this one that makes a guy wish all future commentary on this subject would be forcibly ceased...
...I had no idea Catholic priests diddling children were also defensive coordinators with 20 plus years of service within those universitities’ football programs, but I’m glad I know it now...

...now was that nice, uncle chip...I thought you were so concerned about getting to the truth about the matter; I guess it’s more fun to exhibit your snark quotient...
...one thing I’d like you to answer...do you actually believe Paterno knew nothing about the 1998 incident, as he testified to the Grand Jury? If so, well, then carry on defending Joepa’s minimalist response to McQueary’s alert, because it becomes far more understandable then...but then I would ask you, do you really think Joepa, who knew when his third string linebacker was skipping classes, would know nothing about his defensive coordinator of 20 plus years, a man almost as celebrated as Paterno himself, being the subject of a police investigation concerning inappropriate behavior with a child? And if he didn’t know about it, why not? What kind of a mediocre coach would he be if he did not know about it?
...the one thing I’ve heard many times here in Pa, is that Joepa was anything but a mediocre coach...

If he did know about 1998, what would he have known??? If he knew what Spanier, Schultz, Curry, and Harmon knew, then he would have known that Sandusky did the same thing in 1998, was fully investigated by all public child welfare agencies, child psychologists, and law enforcement, and was exhonerated to continue his work with kids full time with The Second Mile.

Let's say that he knew all that. How would that have helped him??? What should he have done differently???

Then you just back what I said: the decision cannot be appealed. I think you should try again.

Defensive coordinator? Umm.. Try retired professor with union guaranteed emeritus status that entitles him to his own office, keys to facilities,

Try understand the situation before commenting. Penn State athletics had zero to do with Jerry Sandusky.

Amazing isn’t it now. There’s a huge academic scandal at North Carolina involving players and Mark Emmert claims its outside his authority to intervene. Absolutely comical.

...glad I checked back to see your reply, pathetic as it is...let’s try again, shall we...so,according to your logic, Sandusky had emeritus status, with keys and access and all that good stuff, well, just because, no particular reason, certainly nothing to do with being defensive coordinator for 20 plus years...and even less so that he had been and still was a noted figure in the PSU athletic realm, it was just that PSU woke up one day and decided to turn the keys over to him, well, just because he was good old Jerry...I’m sure it happens that way on all college campuses...sure glad you set me straight on that...

I would say that Sandusky was a huge part of Paterno’s success at Penn State....it was because of Sandusky, that Penn State was referred to as “Linebacker U”....if you played linebacker at Penn State, you could write your ticket to the NFL.

...if hopefully you come back to this thread, then for the sake of clarity, which I’m sure you’re all for, please acknowledge that Sandusky was not exonerated by anybody...it was determined that there was not sufficient evidence to go to trial...I’m sure you know the difference between those two points...

Let’s say that he knew all that. How would that have helped him??? What should he have done differently???...

...sigh...I’ll go slow here for you...when Mike came to him with his news, Joe would (or should) have made the immediate connection with the 1998 situation, have slapped himself on the forehead, said something like ‘oh no, not this shit again’ and have immediately phoned Curley, Schultz, and Spanier, gotten them out of bed if he had to, and, considering this guy was at PSU doing this stuff because of him in the first place, would have taken the lead in seeing that it got resolved in a timely fashion...whereas if he didn’t know about 1998, he would have listened to Mike, waited a day or so, and then called Curley and said something like ‘we might have a problem’, and then washed his hands of the matter, thinking he’d done his part, which is in fact exactly what he did do...
...see why the point is crucial? And see why it’s important what Joe told the grand jury? Either he was a detached, disinterested coach just going through the motions, which is not likely, or he lied...nothing else is possible...

...but remember, none of that had anything to do with his being conferred emeritus status, with keys and perks and access to act out his deviancies...
...just remember, Jerry Sandusky had zero to do with PSU athletics, like the man said...

<>.it was determined that there was not sufficient evidence to go to trial...I’m sure you know the difference between those two points...<>

All right — “was not charged” — for all intents and purposes for the average layman — the same thing. He was fully investigated and nothing happened to him.

<>.sigh...I’ll go slow here for you...when Mike came to him with his news, Joe would (or should) have made the immediate connection with the 1998 situation,<>

If he knew about it and knew about Dr. Chamber’s report, which the DPW investigator Lauro claims that even he was not aware of.

Have you read the Freeh Report???? Go read pgs 67? -77? There you will find that after Paterno told Curley, then Curley and Schultz met, and, as documented in the report, they intended to contact the Department of Public Welfare. It was one of three things on their TO DO list.

Curley and Schultz even contacted Chief Harmon of the Penn State Police to find out if the 1998 files on Sandusky were still in their computers and they were.

And you do realize that the PSU legal counsel had been contacted and was directing things as well. It was their responsibility under the direction of legal counsel and their notes showed that they understood that.

It appears from the report that the only way that the DPW and his charity TSM would not be contacted would be if Sandusky confessed to what he had done, admitted that he had a problem, and consented to professional help. Little to no chance of that happening.

TSM was thusly contacted and told of Sandusky’s shower incident. What happened to contacting DPW??? That wasn’t on Paterno’s To Do list. It was on Curley’s, Schultz’s and Spanier’s list.

Paterno had lit the fire under them and they were on their way to contacting the authorities — DPW. But someone dropped the ball. It wasn’t the coach. He didn’t have the ball. It was in their hands. And they knew it.

Here’s the report, read it for yourself:

<>I would say that Sandusky was a huge part of Paterno’s success at Penn State.<>

True — but Penn State still won 111 games [1999-2011] without him, didn’t it???

<>...but remember, none of that had anything to do with his being conferred emeritus status, with keys and perks and access to act out his deviancies...<>

It didn’t. It was his tenured status with 32 years and a standard offer to get longtime employees to retire early that he took advantage of. Here’s how ESPN reports it:

“Sandusky’s lucrative package included taking advantage of a standard offer to longtime early-retiring Penn State employees received that included five extra years on his pension, giving him credit for 37 years of employment, instead of 32. Besides being granted the title of “assistant professor emeritus of physical education,” Sandusky was given a permanent office in an athletic building on campus. He had a parking pass and access to the Lasch Football Building. He was also given four tickets to every home football game.”

Nothing you write makes one bit of sense. Quit talking jibberish please. Learn the facts of the case. Read the Freeh Report and tell me where the evidence is. If you can’t do any of that, then you should just shut up while you’re already in a hole.

PS -- check footnote in Freeh Report page 51 from Exhibit 2G:

In response to request for access to training and workout facilities in his retirement, a handwritten note from Paterno attached reads:

"Is this for personal use or 2nd Mile Kids. No to 2nd Mile, Liability Problems"
