On Aug. 1, thousands flocked to local restaurants in support of National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. For the Aug. 7 National Marriage Equality Day -- not so much...Just might smash last week's "Kiss In" record for epic fail on the "fluster cluck" meter.
According to their website, gay rights activists at Equally Wed Magazine launched a campaign Tuesday designed to counter the highly successful outcome of last weeks Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, during which the company announced record sales.
Here are ten reasons why this counter offensive qualifies as a "fluster cluck."
According to the Urban Dictionary, a fluster cluck is defined as:
A miserable disorganized event, similar to a cluster (expletive deleted), however, a splendid time was had by all. Shared misery with friends.
Reason One: Naming the event.
Originally, the plan was to call the affair, National Starbucks Appreciation Day, in honor of the coffee chains support of activist efforts to legalize gay marriage.
Unfortunately, a number of other factions already had dibs on that moniker. So, they had to pick another name.
In an effort to heighten awareness for all companies and nonprofits contributing to the fight for marriage equality, weve decided to rename August 7 as National Marriage Equality Day.
First problem solved.

I don’t see any ten reasons, I see a blog excerpt.
And why would you post anything from “Examiner” as “News”?
It’s a blog, one of the scummiest.
I predict that the next battle will occur after the college football season when teams are chosen for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. You know that the rabble rousers at any college will make hay and pressure their athletic departments to decline the invitiation.

Thousands? Yep. That covers the one CFA in my town. How about the other 1,600?
It could be argued that it involved millions.
I love the examiner. There are a lot of different stories from a lot of different authors there.
I’m not really sureif anyone showed up at my CFA location in Metairie, Louisiana where on Aug 1 the lines were blocks long long into the night.
It is an excerpt which continues. Sorry for not posting in the blog section; seems now I ought to have. I do like the piece, though.
Queers love butsecks. It takes all types, I guess.
There are a lot of different stories
Stolen material. Not stories.
from a lot of different authors there.
They are not authors. It's a pay-per-hit blog.
Those maggots re-word MSM stories and sucker you into giving them a hit.
Don't be a sucker.
Thanks for that. Yes, it is diverse. I only post pieces from there which I find well-written and relevant. ;-)
The fluster cluck crowd should have called their failed event the “National Sex Pervert Disgusting Display With Which No Normal Mother And Father Wants Themselves Or Their Children Associated Day”
Where did that come from? If you don’t like the site, fine. I not only enjoy the op-ed stuff there, but I can comment on stuff I disagree with. Frankly, I think we conservatives should spam such articles with comments. That kind of site is where the war for our country’s future is being fought.
IOW, in a way I consider it my patriotic duty to read and comment on stories not only at the examiner, but other sites as well. The silent majority should be silent no more.
Well, seems they are being paid back for their arrogance with another flop. And being narcissistic, this is something which they don’t tolerate well.
humblegunner, You do see that this piece is anti-gay advocacy? It is also well-written. Maybe you should just skip this thread if this bothers you so much.
Depends on the schools. If it's a couple of good 'ol Ag and Engineering Schools like Virginia Tech and Mississippi State, they'll be laughed out of the stadium. However, if it's Ole Miss and North Carolina, they'll be French-kissing each other all over the Chik-Fil-A Bowl Fanfare.
And maybe you should skip diverting traffic to the Examiner blog since it bothers me so much.
Because that wretched hive of scum and villainy is not a source of anything except thieves scamming hits.
And by posting it here, you enable them.
One thing that keeps being missed- CFA Appreciation day was in RESPONSE to the scheduled “kiss in”.
Just because it occurred before the homos’ demonstration doesn’t mean that it was organized first.
Sorry, Scott. Now you know too much, and we have to zot you. Been nice knowing you...I really liked you!
Well, let’s not call it that.
Just wanted to post a humorous piece about how Marriage Equality day was a joke.
I really don’t know zip about the Examiner, truth be told...but I had seen other FReepers post from there and....let’s just drop it :-(
:-( liked you as well.
