I think it is a valid point. But if a conservative doesn’t want to trust the party, they should join another party, and not vote in the republican primary.
If Newt Gingrich had won, I would have expected the delegates at the convention to honor their commitment, and I’d expect the RNC and the other GOP organizations to get behind him. If they didn’t, then we’d know not to trust them.
I normally don't vote in primary elections. However, this year I had to declare as Republican so I could vote for Ted Cruz here in Texas.
Unfortunately, at present, Constitutional Conservatives don't have a political party that either represents their views or really wants them around.
I am not naive enough to think that much can be done about the death lock the two major political party's have on our political system.
But as an aging citizen of the Republic I can, as each citizen should, vote their conscience. John Quincy Adams had some great advice about that topic.
