Davidson College in North Carolina has become the first university in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served on campus.
A liberal arts college in North Carolina has become the first in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served at campus events over the restaurant's indirect support of pro-family groups perceived by some as “anti-gay.”
The student organization that controls student funds at Davidson College made the decision last week to prevent the sandwiches from being served at a series of events called “After Midnight,” when students circulated a petition expressing outrage over a Chick-fil-A’s owner’s monetary donations to groups including Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.

Yes, I see that now - Headline should have read “Davidson students won’t bring CFA food to events” instead of the bravado of their headline and pic caption.

Recently, William and Mary, up the road from me, took the cross out of the chapel to not “offend”. The outrage , especially from alums, was instantaneous with the with holding of money being most effective.
The idiot, lib president (ex-law school prof) was shut down and eventually moved on to another school.
It works...hope it works for this school.
Yes, these kids have delusions of grandeur about their power : They are a mere drop in the bucket to CFA.
Naps...don’t forget the most recent NC vote that overwhelmingly endorsed traditional marriage. This will not go down well in NC and I don’t think we’ll hear the end of this...

If my kid went to one of these schools, I’d pull their butt out in a heartbeat. If they protested, I’d tell them it was time they paid their own way through college.
This is ONE area where I would not pull any punches with my kids.
Until today, I never thought of Davidson people as bigots.
