What is it with Obama and flies, bees rats and racoons?
During the 2008 campaign, an LA Times reporter assigned to follow Obama described the following creepy scene on a campaign stop one hot summer afternoon in Iowa:
“Obama was flipping burgers at a backyard barbecue, in what the campaign hoped would be an exquisite photo opportunity. A fly began circling his head. Then more flies. Pretty soon flies were swarming him, the burgers — everything. It was awful to watch. But in rhythmic fashion he began waving them off with his hand.”
Then on June 16, 2009, while Obama was being interviewed in the White House, a fly kept buzzing around his head. Without a moment’s hesitation, Obama killed the fly with his hand.
Yesterday, May 16, comes an even more bizarre incident. Eric Zimmermann of The Hill reports that a swarm of “thousands of bees“ hovered as Obama tried to leave the White House to play basketball at Fort McNair. By the time the Lord of the Flies returned at noon, the bees were apparently nowhere in sight.
So I looked up references to swarms of bees in the Bible. This is what I found:
“And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.” -Deuteronomy 1:44

Racoons invade White House
A band of masked intruders has broken into the secure White House grounds and has evaded capture by agents of the new Obama administration, officials said today.
The National Park Service is in pursuit of one very large raccoon and several medium-sized raccoons, who have been spotted roaming the grounds around the Executive Mansion and the West Wing, a spokesman said.
“The idea of raccoons on the White House grounds give us great pause,” spokesman Bill Burton said.
So far, the raccoons have evaded capture despite the presence of several “live traps,” which are essentially cages with a one-way doors to keep the animals inside.
