It's the "Attention Effect"
There are a lot of government agencies with armed agents. Some are a bit odd (Social Security OIG OI) or small (NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service Office of Law Enforcement) but they're not new, orginated by Obama, etc.
These agencies have been buying ammo for years.
basically what happened is someone not particularly bright happened to notice government solicitations are on-line at FedBizOpps (where they have been for years) and saw the large umbrella DHS purchase and then frantically started cranking out scare articles.
So now legions of people are searching Fed Biz Opps for every ammo purchase, and then posting them all over the internet.
How hard is it to understand that just because you see a lot of similar news items over a short period on an event, it doesn't mean that that event just STARTED happening or is happening in unusual numbers at the moment?
Yeah, maybe it’s just fear mongering.
As a historical touchpoint-- it has been posited and was a Northern accusation in treason proceedings, with some data, that Jefferson Davis (when he was Sec. of War under President (D) Franklin Pierce in the runup to (D)Buchanan who was followed by (R) Lincoln and Secession) diverted and directed ammo and mil hardware to military bases in the South. These bases were later seized with the supplies upon Secession by the CSA. Just an observation.
There are some who think the one and bidmytime-en (the moron) and DNC would love race riots, civil unrest- and enact martial law to stop national elections. So there's that, also. Patterns and reality.
Sensationalism sells?
How hard is it to understand that people have a natural inclination to express concern when they read something like this?
Thanks for the information.
