The number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits edged higher last week although a trend reading fell close to a four-year low, pointing to ongoing healing in the labor market.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits slipped 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 366,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. That was in line with economists' forecasts in a Reuters poll.

Shocking!
unexpected....everyone drink!!!!
And this week’s 366k will be revised up to 370k so they can report a drop or at least a smaller increase next week.....
How dare you cast dispersions upon Dear Leader and his minions!
Whatever works best until November 6.
These faking frauds have to go home to their families knowing everything they do is a lie, just to support an oppressive racist regime, simply because they’re not Republicans.
What repugnant POS so many Americans have become.
I would rather cast aspersions...........
Does this include the 1.7 illegals who just got signed up onto our rolls — now that they’re here and “legal” are they going to receive and file for unemployment benefits and status??
aspersions
What repugnant POS so many Americans have become
Frankly, I wouldn’t confer the title “American” on many of these people nowadays ...
At any given time, there are 33% of any group that wants to take property and wealth away from you. We only get in trouble when that 33% works for the government..............
The idiot media can’t grasp the concept of comparing apples to apples. How difficult would it be for them to look at last week’s story to see what that week’s estimated number was?
I’d love to show them the difference by graphing the two outcomes, but it would be time wasted to expect them to understnd the slope of a line.
All these journalists took English lit courses, economics courses taught to examine political impacts, and womens studies. If any of them took a statistics course, they did it by correspondence and had somebody smart do their homework for them.
If jobless raised by 2000 in a Republican admin the headline would be : employment stagnating, economy stuck, stalled, direction less. Look at ap and Bloomberg. You will see jobs slowly healing. Jobless nearly unchanged. stabilizing. Does Obama’s team just right the copy for them? Romney should call this out.
I stopped believing the phoney baloney jobs numbers a long time ago.
For the first time in my life (that I can remember)I’ve seen people standing on the roadside in sandwich boards asking for work. Not bums pretending to want to “work for food”, but actual people standing on the side of the road with resumes begging for an opportunity to work.
I wish people would get their heads out of their butts and wake up.
Exactly as I predicted, gasoline prices going through the roof across the country. With each week that passes, and gas prices continue rising, the unemployment numbers will continue to get worse and worse.
This reporting scam has to stop. It did NOT rise by 2,000. It rose by 6,000 from the previously under-reported to a new under-reported number.
Impossible. The Democrats fixed this when they elected Obama.
The opening sentence of this Reuter's dispatch sent my little grey cells reeling at the very cunning of Obama's captive media wordsmiths:
"The number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits edged higher last week...." (so far, news is bad)
"......although a TREND READING fell CLOSE to a four-year low......"('trend reading' to the rescue. Quickly, factual BAD news is suddenly GOOD news because of a voodoo, iffy 'trend reading' that is 'close')
"......pointing to ongoing HEALING in the labor market.".......(now the original BAD news is ecstatically-GOOD news, medically-speaking, all in the space of 33 words in one single sentence).
Reuters and other journalistic perverts sure have a way with words, don't they!
For our own sanity and preservation we need Goebbels 101 courses available in schools and junior colleges everywhere to dissect, translate and expose the new leftist MediaSpeak.

Tick, tick, tick.....
Where do you get the idea that even a significant minority of “journalists” took an economics course? Even English Literature would be a stretch since most cannot write a competent understandable sentence.
They certainly do not take a course as rigorous as Economics and Statistics? Not a chance.
