Virginia's a good data point, but it's only one and may not be our best. We may want to hang our conservative hats on a state that's not benefiting from a flood of federal taxpayer dollars.

Our “rainy day” reserve fund will go to to $689 million and $30 million will go to a new contingency fund to deal with fed cuts when they come.
About $320 million of the surplus came from reduced spending- savings!
Not perfect, but people can see why we like our conservative governor.

Sure does help when we have all of that federal government money dumped into our state. The rural areas of the state are as economically depressed as I’ve ever seen them. It has been bad for years now(over 10), and continues to get worse. It all started going to hell when the floodgates opened and many jobs were lost due to our trade agreements.(see: Treason in the dictionary)
