Klein: Hillary Turned Down Veep Spot
Townhall.com ^ | August 17, 2012 | Larry Kudlow

Posted on 08/17/2012 7:32:16 AM PDT by Kaslin

According to author Edward Klein, Obama has put out feelers to Hillary Clinton about accepting the VP spot on the ticket, but Hillary has said no. In the exclusive video below, Klein tells Larry Kudlow why Clinton is reluctant to take the number two spot.

Klein: Until just a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary would accept the vice presidential nod and replace Joe Biden. Bill Clinton was, I'm told, urging his wife to accept the number two slot. He saw this as a great launching pad for her for running in 2016. But then Hillary had lunch in the White House a couple of weeks ago with Valerie Jarrett, Michelle's best friend, senior adviser to both the First Lady and the President.

Kudlow: Just about the biggest Lefty in the White House.

Any attempt to do it now would reek of desperation.

As if his campaign isn't already giving off that scent???
At this point what's one more Hail Mary?

Scary to think; but Obama could actually give himself a huge boost if he picked a sharp VP candidate.

I had kind of thought this was silly thinking; but realized this morning he could get a lot of traction with a bold move and pick someone with energy and intellect.

I don't think it will happen. But there is really no downside to dumping Biden. He would instantly shift the spotlight to him if he did dump Biden however.

I think it is safe to assume that the internals of their own polling are far, far worse than what we are being fed, and that they are fairly desperate.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that Biden is an anchor on the ship of state.
WE certainly saw it coming. The Dems know, too. But HILLARY IS NOT GOING TO RESCUE HER ADVERSARY.............

Hillary Clinton would have to be insane to join up with the sinking ship of Obama/Biden. If Obama loses with Hillary as his number two, she will be finished as any sort of meaningful politician.

If Obama wins (he won’t), he will destroy the both the country and the economy. Again, Hillary would be tagged as abetting the enemy. Better to let Obama/Biden sink on their own. Then Hillary has a clear shot at the top spot in 2016, with no horrible “Obama” baggage.

Before this race for POTUS is over, Bill Clinton will twist the political failure knife into the heart of Clinton hated Obama!!! Just watch the Clintons work the American Traitors, Barack Hussein Obama and his Black Racist, elitist, wife Michelle!!! The Clintons have not forgotten 2008....and, never will!!!

Agree. King Obie has NEVER been in this position politically. He has always been able to personally destroy destroy his opponents. As much as we may dislike Romney's politics, personally/morally he seems to be very clean.

Still believe Obie will either have a nervous breakdown or a prescription drug OD before the election. I think he is walking a fine line right now between sanity and insanity.

It has to be driving them absolutely nuts as they go frantically digging in vain under every rock and in every dumpster, trying to dig up dirt on a Mormon.

I agree, this race may come to a premature end with a very public Obama meltdown. And I think part of Romney’s tactic should be to try and provoke one.

Hillary’s path to the nomination in 2016 is greatly enhanced by a Romney presidency, not a 2nd Obama term.

Therefore, NO to being vp under any scenario.

Concur. If we can get Obama's mask to come off in public for just 20 seconds, this election is over.

We did see the mask come off when he said:

“You didn’t build that”

He was off the teleprompter and showed his true beliefs/nature.

I find it amusing that we are now getting stories about Hillary turning down the ‘job’ TWO weeks ago. These stories coming less than a week after Sarah Palin literally poisoned the well for them. Y’all know who Sarah Palin is don’t you? You know the woman the Democrats and GOP-E keep telling us is just oh so ignorant.

I don’t think “Failed policies” would be an issue in 2016 if Obama wins. He would have so many people dependant on welfare, that would be the only issue. And if Hillary’s opponant ran against entitlements in any way she’d secure a victory. IMO.

Depends on the ratio of those depending on entitlements to those paying for them. At some point it might be impossible for "against entitlements" to be a strategy that would win majority support.

What a surprise. Hillary doesn't want to climb aboard and save Obama's sinking ship.

I wouldn't be surprised if she strung Obama along for a couple of weeks, letting the rumors get out, just to mess with his mind.

As I observed earlier in the thread entitled "White House says Obama will stick with Biden as running mate", was in truth probably more like "White House says admits Obama will stick is stuck with Biden as running mate".
