Nancy Cordes, CBS: Are you comfortable with the tone being set with your campaign? Have you asked them to change their tone when it comes to defining Mr. Romney.
President Obama: Well, first of all I am not sure that all of those characterizations that you laid out there were accurate. For example, nobody accused Mr. Romney of being a felon. And, I think that what is absolutely true is if you watch me on the campaign trail, here's what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how to put Americans back to work.

1:43 p.m. — After a question by Chuck Todd of NBC News, Obama again defends his call on Mitt Romney to release more tax returns.
He notes that Romney has already disclosed he has “Swiss bank accounts,” which are “perfectly legal” but which voters would find to be “relevant information.”
He wants Romney to respond to this. It’s part of the “muck it up” strategy. Ignore and keep trucking forward with substance.
1:35 p.m. — Obama tells Nancy Cordes of CBS News that he disputes Mitt Romney’s assertion that be is running a campaign of “hate” and “anger.”
“We’re pointing out sharp differences,” Obama said. “But we don’t go out of bounds.”
Obama says his campaign had nothing to do with an ad that linked Romney to a woman’s death by cancer — but notes that Romney did a false ad about his welfare reform plan.
“You can’t just make stuff up,” he said.
Only after he felt he got enough mileage out of it.....like everything else.
Obama is a liar, like all RATS.

The press will marvel at the president’s campaign’s deflection of the questions. They won’t bother finding out what the campaign actually said. It’s as if they like hearing his voice, but don’t bother comprehending what he says.

All of which opens up, it seems, a raft of possibilities for Republicans to use his own words to claim also that the details of academic and personal lives of other presidential candidates have been available to voters for examination and discussion.
