Ft. Hood shooter trial delayed

A military appeals court halted the murder case against Maj. Nidal Hasan indefinitely on Friday to sort out issues surrounding a judge's threat to shave the beard the Army psychiatrist grew while awaiting trial in the 2009 Fort Hood killings.

The court martial was originally stopped on Wednesday and Hassan was fined $1,000 for remaining bearded, which violates Army regulations. The military judge in the case, U.S. Army Col. Gregory Gross, had previously held that Hassan's beard disrupts the court proceedings and held him in contempt of court five times, the Army said in a news release.

It was unclear how long the case would be on hold.

Hold him in contempt, inform him that his having a beard cannot be used in any appeal and get on with the trial bearded or not. Killing 13 people is vastly worse on the UCMJ than having facial hair and the second shouldn't delay the trial for the first.

It will be on hold at his fellow terrorist’s convenience, who may, in fact, even eventually pardon him.

That is a nice story. A man slaughters thirteen people and he remains untried and not convicted because of the length of his beard. There is a real reason. This is a thirty five year old unmarried man who claims he could not find a wife sufficently devout. Its likely that army investigators found information on his computer and in his appartment that would be politically very inconvenient for our new gay friendly military. Obama will simply not allow an open trial until after the election if at all.

The judge can potentially order him to be executed, but can’t order him to be shaved?

I agree!
...he’s had almost 3 years more of life,
than his victims!
(i’m starting to believe, that Obama causes delays,
and releases from Quantanamo, because he refuses
to sign the exection order of a Muslim.
...would also explain why he cancelled getting Osama 3 times... Occam’s Razor.)

First thing the Army should do now ....have a quick court martial for failure to follow a lawful order ...upon conviction, bust him in rank the maximum permissible. Repeat until he is a Private.

This way, the low-life scumbag can’t draw pay and benefits as a Major, and won’t be referred to in hearings as “Major Hassan.”

One of Romney’s surrogate attack dogs ought to suggest that obama is delaying this proceeding, further proof of his sympathetic, but dangerous, policies toward radical Islam.

His lawyers had been seeking a delay of the case until December, but Gross refused and set Monday as the trial date.

Bet that judge gets a phone call. Can't have this upsetting the November voters.

Hasan Akbar the US muslim that murdered two fellow american soldiers and injured 14 others in March 2003 at Camp Pennsyvania in Kuwait was sentenced to death in 2005, and his case is still pending in 2012. Being held at Ft Bragg pending the resolution of appeals. He will probably die of old age. Most likely, Nidal Hasan will be around 11 years from now and Akbar as well. Maybe they can be put in the same cell and congratulate each other on escaping punishment for their treasonable deeds.

Ship this Jihadist murderer to GITMO by ship and on the way there arrange for his gurney to fall over the side. The sharks will clean up.
