If you are referring to the Republican Party, I'd say they haven't been honorable for a long while. The rank-and-file voters, maybe, but not the party.

The only reason that this guy's statement is such a liability is because we have allowed the leftist media to have so much power in dictating the narrative. If, every time the media tried to make a big deal out of something stupid, or something misspoken, we fought them tooth and nail, they wouldn't have the full power and free rein they have now. Instead, we cave every time, allowing them to decide what is and is not allowed to be said.

To be honest, I think what bothers me most about this situation is not the possibility that this guy should drop out for political expedience, but that so many Freepers here are simply wallowing in the same jackal-like politically-correct feeding frenzy that the leftists routinely do. Freepers seem to be having a contest regarding who can heap more derision on this guy - almost as if they are happy to have an excuse to be on the same side as the media hacks and other assorted lefty nutbags. When I see that, I can't help but think we are lost.

I agree. It’s irrational. I heard what he said and personally don’t think it was even wrong. The whole episode is bizarre - mostly the response from GOP(not surprising) but from supposedly pro-life conservative freepers? I don’t get it. Conditioning...PC Rules - and unfortunately I don’t foresee anyone willing or able to stand up to or mount a counter attack to the PC Paradigm that if not countered effectively will see this country destroyed very soon.

I don’t get why people don’t ask the question - what is the end goal of Political Correctness? Where will PC take us in 2, 5, 10 years? Is there room for debate within PC? how is this compatible with our history and laws and if it’s not then simply refuse to abide by it and remind people at every chance that as Americans Political Correctness is not a valid concept and expose it and it’s sordid history.
