We have some little guy who just doesn’t want to kill babies

His stance against abortion is not the issue. His Makaka moment is.

even on here I haven't seen anybody saying that Akin statement was 100% correct and has nothing to apologize for

Really? I've run into a dozen of them, at least, including several normally intelligent folks who ought to know better. There are some who view this election as an ideological purity test rather than a last-ditch action to save the Republic.

You think the 20% in the middle care about a Senate candidate from Missouri? Most of them couldn’t name him if you asked them today.

The 20% in the middle care more about their jobs, their families, etc. This is about Obama’ America. It is partially about Romney and Ryan’s vision ... but it is more about where Obama has taken us than about where Romney will.

As much as Obama and NBC wishes otherwise ... Akin will be a distant memory come November. This won’t affect the Presidential election at all. The DNC and the media will try to distract with this kinda thing. They will fail. The media ain’t what it used to be.

I would never fear an election based on family values. America is still a pro life, pro traditional marriage country.

I have no fear of an election based on family values either. But family values is not the issue that's being discussed about Akin.

Well what is the issue? Stupidity? Obama and Biden have that mantle all locked up. Republicans are pro rape? Bill Clinton wins that one hands down. I think Akin should step aside, not because of his inept language but because he was totally unprepared to clarify his remarks the next day. He’s a bad candidate but he’s a good man.

I hope you all like to hear Akin apologise, because you are going to hear him do it over and over and over all the way until he loses in a landslide in November.

I was there for Allen and "Macaca" in 2006. The pattern is simple: 1. The media plays the comment continuously in every cycle accompanied with negative commentary; 2. The candidate sinks in the polls and is pressured by his donors to "do something"; 3. The candidate issues a "heartfelt" apology; Return to step 1 and repeat. Within two weeks of "macaca" breaking, Allen=Macaca. The two were as inseparable as bread and butter. So shall Akin=Rape. He will apologize muchly to no avail.

Yes, there is a firestorm, thanks to some so-called “conservatives” and many RINOS who have kept this thing going with their bed wetting. If they would have followed Reagan’s advice, this would have died a quiet death like so many other efforts of the MSM to make a mountain out of an ant hill.

Economic issues are front and center

Economic issues were front and center a few days ago. (and it took a lot of work and time for us to force them to be an issue.

Now we're back to square one. (AKA Makaka)

I don’t think the GOP should continue to dignify this B.S. with an answer. They are just trying to capitalize on a dumb statement. They should just refuse to take any more questions on it. Be just as selective as obama is when it comes to the media. Just keep focusing on the economy like a laser and on obama’s failure to drive us out of “the ditch”.
