Jack Tapper: Media Failing Country
The Weekly Standard ^ | August 21, 2012 | DANIEL HALPER

Posted on 08/21/2012 12:45:10 PM PDT by RobinMasters

In an interview with Laura Ingraham, White House reporter Jake Tapper said that the media is failing the country.

"A lot of people are hurting out there. Unemployment is 8.3 percent. That doesn’t even take into account the underemployed,” he said, arguing that too much time has been spent not talking about the economy.

Tapper also criticized the media for not giving enough attention to the war in Afghanistan.

"We are spending a lot of time in the last few weeks, those of us in the political world, political journalists and also politicians, talking about things other than the economy," said Tapper. "[A] lot of people are hurting out there. I’d like to see more action taken and more emphasis given to this issue.”

While I have to admit that Tapper is in the top 10% of journalists....that ain’t sayin’ much, Jake. You’re the top 10% of a bag full of dog crap. None of you dug into the question of just who this SOB, that YOUR profession allowed to hoodwink the country, is.

What has happened is your fault and while it is always better late than never to expose this fraud......you won’t.

Blame whomever you like, you are all complicit in treason. Start digging, start asking the hard questions, start asking the MATH questions, demand answers, stop smearing Patriots, dig past the smoke and expose the fire.....

or STFU and FO.

I can't complain too much - Tapper has been the only one in the White House pool asking Carney anything tougher than "Oooh, what did the Greatest President Ever have for breakfast this morning?" It has to be painful sitting there in a group of throne-licking Chihuahuas day after day.

The simple truth is that the firm belief - it is on the order of a religious doctrine - within the mainstream press that their own monolithic political alignments do not bleed through into their coverage is a falsehood on the order of the Piltdown Man. It is more obvious in the questions that don't get asked than in the ones that do. For example, when hundreds of thousands of citizens overwhelmed the Chick-Fil-A restaurants the most common reaction in the press was (1) it's not that big a deal, and (2) quick, let's get the cameras on the dozen or so gay activists and away from the lumpenproletariat. A far more professional reaction would have been on the order of "what the hell is happening here?" and any journalist worth his or her salt in the old days would have been pounding it against the stone wall of blandness that is the administration's position toward politics that are out of accord with its lofty pretensions.

The very fact that the 0bama administration has had the brass nerve to demand Romney's tax returns is a direct indication of just how little that same sort of question has been - and continues to be - avoided with respect to 0bama by the press, and the continuing conviction on the part of that staff that it will always be so, as it most certainly will. Yes, there is a double standard with respect to the candidates and journalists are proud of it because they established it and continue to protect it as a manifestation of power. These are worse than lapdogs, they are proud lapdogs.

Nevertheless, that consistency - the consistency of a mobster used to monthly payments - is of some comfort to conservatives running against it. The playing field is tilted, yes, but dependably so. That's as much as we are likely to get.

The media is being brought kicking and screaming back to reality. I think Obama is egging Mitt into making some offhand birther statement as in “where are your records?”.

Leave it alone Cajun, they have a long road to come back on.. One step at a time..

First you have Time’s Mark Halperin, and how he felt about Obama’s debt ceiling speech, calling him a Di@k, on TeeVee no less.. Then, Newsweek’s Tina Brown, puts “Now It’s Time for Obama to ‘Hit the Road’”, on it’s cover.. Now Jake Tapper!

The only question is WHO, WHAT, WHERE, HOW, will the next Lib Journalist, Network, and Publication, will try to salvage their own A$$.. We already know WHY, the only question is, WHEN.. :)

As I’ve stated on this forum many times, lying is not the worst thing Big Media does...not giving both sides of the story or no story at all is their biggest crime. It’s common knowledge the media has a liberal bent, and as main gatekeeper, stories where the conclusion is not to their liking get short shrift. Or no shrift.

I can't say it enough.

The media is our nations number one enemy.

They are a bigger threat then anyone or anything we have plotting against us foreign or domestic.

The founders understood the importance of keeping the people informed but if the media is corrupt and dishonest then the people aren't able to make informed choices.

The media in this country will cover up, exaggerate, and out right lie to prop up their twisted ideals. It has never been as bad as it is today.

It’s only been since Election 2000 that Big Media stopped pretending to like America. At all.

Where were you in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980.....?
