I cannot fathom how the GOP, Sarah Palin, the Senator from MA what's his name, that dumb-ass Romney, and seemingly over half the FReepers posting today got their knickers in such a twist over a fellow GOP member who voiced his opinion.
Did anyone happen to notice that he won the primary in his state? And that his constituents seem so support him despite Heaven falling upon his head and the Devil rising up to strike him off the rolls, not to mention Limbaugh getting it wrong for once and at breakneck speed at that.
The only people who have a say in this are the people in his state who voted for him once and now have the chance to do it again. You want to make a difference? Move to Missouri and vote against him.
If you objectively look at what he said, who he is and has steadfastly been over his career, there is no surprise he said what he did. And what did he say? Basically he was against making law affecting everyone in our society for a small number, a very small number it seems, who might be inconvenienced. Yes, inconvenienced, not harmed.
The feminists and their butt-boy supporters and tools on the left can blow it out their a$$ when they object to this choice of words, but that is the way it is. I am so disappointed that so many American women have allowed themselves to be used as tools in a political movement. And Sarah, I had hoped you would ride into Tampa and come out with the nomination... but you just couldn't get away from your Tampon, could you.
> but you just couldn’t get away from your Tampon, could you.
Akin is that you?
Seems like the whole world and God (God certainly would not support the harming of the pro-life movement as it was harmed by Akin) are wrong and YOU are right.
I am from Missouri, didn’t vote for Akin the first time, and wish he would drop out now. I know of no one personally who is defending this man. He is actually giving Claire a chance at winning, which I didn’t believe was even in the realm of possibility. Apparently Claire knew, as she was running ads that benefited him.
I can’t believe the number of people on FR who are okay with stupid comments that insult rape victims and are in no way consistent with basic biology. He could have said rape victims comprise a very small percentage of abortions or that regardless of the circumstances of conception, a baby has the right to live. Instead, he said “legitimately” raped women can’t get pregnant. He is incapable of framing the issue of life in a rational, compassionate way. This is his own fault. No one made him make such a asinine statement. Why are you nastily insulting pro-life women instead of blaming Akin for being a politically tone-deaf, blithering idiot?
