Conservatives can’t handle sheer stupidity. I can’t think of anything more stupid than declaring that a raped woman has little chance of getting pregnant. I have actively followed politics since Nixon, and have never heard such imbecile comment in that entire period from any republican.
Actually pregnancy is much less apt to result from traumatic rape than from an act of consensual sex. That is a statistical truth. It is not, however, political “truth.” And It is ironic that Republicans cannot deal with political incorrectness or stupidity. Republicans have for many decades been rightly termed the Stupid Party and are politically incorrect by definition.
We can argue about Akin’s statements until we are both blue in the face. The real verdict will be delivered by voters on Nov 6th. Those voters will include from extreme left to extreme right and everyone in between.
I predict AKin will lose to McCaskill by a DOUBLE DIGIT margin. That will banish Akin forever to the heap of also ran very bad candidates. Only then our argument will end and who was right will be confirmed. Until then I rest my case.
It is bad enough that Akin will have handed the MO senate seat to democrats, he might also end up giving 4 more years to the radical socialist and community organizer from Chicago. And that would be a much bigger travesty. My heart goes out to millions more who will lose their jobs and millions of college graduates who will be unable to find jobs.
Akin has a ego bigger than Obama and intellectual capacity smaller than Biden.
