It’s interesting to see that someone who, based upon his/her posts on this forum, wants to do everything possible to discourage votes for the Republican presidential/vice presidential ticket is now also doing everything in his/her power to keep a sure loser on the ticket as the Republican candidate in Missouri—a state where it should have been a piece of cake to defeat the Democrat incumbent.

I'm glad you picked up on that. It is interesting, isn't it. And also very easy to explain. When you look at Romney's voting history you'll find an anti-conservative progressive liberal statist candidate for President. When you look at Akin's voting history, you'll find a staunch-conservative small government small business candidate for Senate. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to point that out.

Before Akin we were able to blame the RINOs, the GOP Establisment and Romney for any victory Obama may enjoy in 2012.

Thanks to Akin (if he loses the Senate seat and/or Romney loses Missouri and the general election because of it) blaming the GOPe and RINOs is now out the window.

Akin is hurting the conservative movement. Now conservatives will get blamed (even though most of us wanted him to step down).

This is a win / win for RINOs.

Thank you Akin!

Actually, the interesting part is that the poster in question is doing (whether as a result of angelic or malevalent motivation) all in his/her power to advance the re-election possibilities of both Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill.

My view is that the most likely explanation when someone is trying to advance (what is in my view) a malevolent end, they most likely have a melevolent motive. An alternative and plausible explanation is that they simply are a “useful idiot” and really have no comprehension of what they are doing.

My life experience leads me to believe that the former explanation is most likely correct and the latter explanation unlikely.
