If Akin were really pro-life, then he would do what it takes to ensure that McCaskill doesn't win. As it turns out, Akin is far more pro-Akin than he is pro-life.

My view of this matter is that Akin is a good man and a solid conservative that really - REALLY - screwed up with this statement. Given the stakes - control of the Senate and probably affecting the Presidential vote in MO (a key swing state) at a time when it is CRITICAL to get rid of Obama and also get rid of Obamacare, I think that Rep. Akin would do his party, his cause and his nation a great service by withdrawing. Its probably not fair, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles in our immoral, ill-educated, former republic. Akin HAS to look beyond himself, he HAS to take into consideration issues that are orders of magnitude more important than his ambitions. Right now, the single greatest service that he can do for his country is to withdraw. That is regrettable for him and his family but, IMHO, true.
