A time for choosing.

Stand with a man who said something stupid but means very well or stand with someone who supports abortion.

No matter how innocent Akin’s intent, the effect of his words are a danger to the entire ticket especially when those words are spun and amplified by corrupt opponents and news media feigning righteous indignation.

No - a REAL test of courage would be whether the Party is willing to dump Romney and replace him with a real conservative.

Akin poisoned his chances... he’s not going to win. If he has a modicum of love for America, he’ll override his own ego and step aside.

But he won’t. He’s enjoying the attention too much.

When Democrats misspeak, we make them vice president. When Republicans misspeak, Republicans are the first in line to throw them under the bus.

IT HAS TO STOP.

The RAT party's keynote speaker is an accused RAPIST. The RAT party's VP is a JOKE.

He used the word “legitimate” before the word “rape” to mean “real,” “forcible,” a tragic event that “really took place.”

Legitimate rape means something different to the Demobrat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) -- and the convention will feature women Bill Clinton raped..

examples of legitimate rape..

apparently legitimate in the sense of "being in accordance with established or accepted patterns and standards" of the Demobrat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party), the MSM, universities, Hollywood, NGOs, U.N., civil rights industry, much of the ruling class, the "nonpartisan" radio and TV, transnationals, and all the Right People.

Also to show religion compassion and understanding the convention will feature Islamist "temporary marriages" that are also in accordance with established or accepted patterns and standards of the aforementioned pukes.

Todd Akin has fallen behind Sen. Claire McCaskill by double digits in the Missouri Senate race, according to a Rasmussen automated phone poll released Thursday.

The survey taken Wednesday shows McCaskill leading Akin, 48 percent to 38 percent, among 500 likely Missouri voters. Nine percent preferred another candidate, and 5 percent were undecided.

The words “legitimate rape” are not the problem( as has been pointed out, that can easily be clarified as “forcible”), it’s the rest of the quote that is the problem:

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

That is a direct quote. It’s a dumb statement; in the same league as “the world is flat”; “the Sun revolves around the Earth”; “I believe in the Easter Bunny” dumb.

Now lets take a trip to Realville. Akin will lose. Rasmussen (the most accurate poll) has him down 10 pts. Screw courage, I want the GOP to take the Senate.

Want to know why the Republican Party is in such trouble? I believe it comes down to one word: courage.

So you are not courageous if you don't stand up for some wacko who happens to be pro life. Give me a break! Pro life beliefs and intelligence are not mutually exclusive.

The country and my children's future are far more important than defending this goof ball. There are plenty of pro lifers who could step in and defeat McCaskill and put this issue to bed.

He used the word “legitimate” before the word “rape” to mean “real,” “forcible,” a tragic event that “really took place.” Anyone who doesn’t think false claims of rape can be made should check with Norma McCorvey, the “Roe” of Roe v. Wade.

No Akin was trying to minimize the implication of his pure Pro-Life position that women should be forced to carry children conceived from rape. He was saying women who are raped do not conceive because their body has a magical property to prevent conception. Therefore, women who claimed they were raped and want to abort a child are lying.

He toast. His seat is gone. Still looking to see if we may have lost the White House in Missouri as well.

NOT THIS TIME! Akin will be hammered in November. Lack of courage did not cause Akin’s poll numbers to plummet. It was his own words, which can’t be fixed or explained. Porter is wrong. Bob

Akin is radioactive. The commie press will repeat his insane remark 24 hours a day every day until he’s gone, using it to try and tar every other Republican in 2012 and to avoid having to report on the economy and Obama’s record in general. This is what the commie media have been waiting for: a way to define Republicans as extremist nut jobs, and Akin is their perfect storm. I don’t care who he is or what he stands for, Akin has simply got to go.

Akin and his type are delusional and need to realize this freak show is going to take us over the cliff with him.

That Akin stays in the race is just one more proof that officials in both parties are in it just for themselves. Nothing is more important to them than being elected or re-elected. Their ONLY true “principal” is getting elected.

This 'stand with the guy' stuff seems all nice and noble, but it's based on the premise that the only thing wrong was his use of the word 'legitimate.' He also said that a woman's body can somehow magically reject the seed of a rapist; this is in no way true, and his saying so clearly was not just a misstatement or poor choice of words. It's sad that this WND article (I usually like WND) simply ignores that.

The man must go, based not on the whole legitimate/forcible thing, but his inaccurate belief about conception via rape.

And it's not like the choice is between him and pro-choice candidates. We could replace him with a pro-life candidate he beat in the primary; they all polled ahead of McCaskill, whereas Akin is polling double digits behind.

But what it boils down to is this:
If you want a pro-life person in that Senate seat, you're not going to get one by sticking with an idiot who now has no chance of winning. That'll just get the pro-choice Dem elected. Our best chance of getting a pro-life person is elected is to replace Akin with one of the pro-life people he beat in the primary, all of whom polled favorably against McCaskill.

The worst thing to do to get a pro-life candidate elected is to keep Akin as that candidate. The man needs to step down, and step down literally yesterday. This whole matter is bigger and more important than him.
