Akin scandal hands Missouri to Obama
weeklystandard.com ^ | August. 24, 2012 | Paul Bedard

If the Republican Party needed any more proof that Missouri Republican Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin was poison to all GOP-ers, they've got it in a new Missouri presidential poll just published by Rasmussen Reports.

After consistently trailing Mitt Romney in Missouri, President Obama is now beating him. It's by just one point, 47 percent to 46 percent, but it represents a big change from Romney's 50 percent-46 percent lead he had a month ago. Worse for the Republican: Romney has led in Missouri all year--until the Akin "legitimate rape" scandal.

The poll could be proof that the scandal has wounded Romney and Republicans and that the Democratic attacks on the Republican is causing voters to reassess Romney. Rasmussen revised his election projection for Missouri, moving it from "lean Romney" to "toss-up."

Just yesterday, he reported that Akin is 10 points behind embattled Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill.

I’m sure they’re working on a story as we speak tying the hurricane heading towards Florida to Akin as well. We wait with baited breath.

a 1 point lead in a poll isnt “handing Missouri” to anyone— especially with 70+ days before the actual vote.

At least old lord McCain with Sarah Palin’s help, won Missouri in 2008. These that are claiming they are doing the Lord's work sure have me confused.

Akin:

“Screw the country. Let Obama win. I’m going to stand on my principles”.

Stay calm, everyone. The radical marxists with their death threats against his family and staff will succeed in making Akin a sympathetic character.

Akin “legitimate rape” scandal

There is a scandal? What is the scandal about? Did he rape someone?

Does this mean Akin is stupid, or Missouri voters are stupid? We can get over the likes of Akin. Stupid voters are going to be the death of us though.

No surprise here.

Many of the supporters of Akin (outside of Missouri) are part of an anti-GOPe group who feel so disenfranchised that their unelectable candidate did not get the nomination that they are willing to accept Obama's infanticide to teach the republican party a lesson. For them, the ends justify the means.

Their goal has been to see to it that Obama win in 2012 for the sole purpose of being able to say "See we told you so".

The normal anti-GOPe crowd (which I am a part of) has had the goal of electing true conservatives to both Houses of Congress, taking control and making sure that the RINO Romney cannot push forward any of his liberal agenda.

Unfortunately, Akin and his ilk are destroying all of those plans to stop socialism and abortion on demand.

It's no coincidence that Akin was (and probably still is) funded by the pro-abortionist crowd. Like Akin supporters, the end jusitifies the means. And the means is a conservative defeat and the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama.

Akin may lose the senate race but I just don’t see Romney losing the presidential race in Missouri. He’s just too unpopular.

Another predictable post.

No, Akin and his bumbling campaign could have no adverse impacts on our conservative electoral hopes for a soundly conservative Senate—or elsewhere. (/sarc)

At least you’re doing a good job of constraining your glee at this latest Rasmussen poll.

The ABR’s have a new hero in Akin and are doing their deeds to give obama 4 more years through him.

So you seriously believe the two are not related.
And don’t even bother trying to start the only reason Romney’s now behind is because of Republican bashing. You posted, you live with it.

I did and I do call for Akin to get out. But you have made a good point. He made a blunder in defending his condemnation of abortion in case of rape. That is a scandal?

And I heard today that Former President Bill (rapist) Clinton has a 65% approval rating.

What has happened to my country? What has happened to the American people? We have turned into fools who worship at the feet of wicked celebrity. God have mercy.

Bingo - the Akin nuts are ABR’s going in a different direction to hand the election to Obama.

They are not fooling anyone.
