Most of us, who actually love our country more than we hate Romney, think it was kind of funny. Romney, who was last on my list (ahead of Ron Paul) is actually showing he is not going to surrender like McCain did. I profoundly disagree with him on social issues, but I have to give him some credit for this. If I don’t hate him enough, can I count on you to pick up the slack for me?

The founding fathers recognized natural born citizens (NBC) and "naturalized" citizens. That 's why they call it a "naturalization ceremony" when and immigrant is made a citizen. An NBC can have either NBC parents, or Naturalized Citizen parents.
George Romney and his wife were US citizens when Mitt was born in Ford Hospital in Detroit. That makes Mitt an NBC. There is no debate.
Mitt's father, George, was also born a US citizen, though he was born in Mexico, to US citizen parents who never relinquished their citizenship in the US. George Romney was also considered eligible for the presidency as an NBC.
The classic definition of NBC is "born in the US, of parents who were US citizens at the time of his birth". Since George Romney was born of two US citizens, he automatically inherited US citizenship even though born in Mexico. Therefore George Romney was a US citizen at the time of Mitt's birth in Michigan. Therefore Mitt meets even the most stringent qualifications of natural born citizenship.
There is no requirement that both parents be NBC in order to confer NBC status, only that they be citizens. Otherwise NOBODY who was not exclusively descended from the original colonists would qualify for NBC. Andrew Jackson was born of two Irish immigrants who arrived in the US two years before his birth, and nobody objected that he wasn't NBC.
