a lick spittle load of PC leftism!

A shame that Akin had to cave to them with his apology tour which continues as we speak instead of sticking by what he said.

Ignorance can not be explained or defended. It can only be displayed and akin along with this author are displaying it well.

The only semantics left are whom shall replace akin.

He needs to resign for the simple fact tha McCaskill is simply too stupid to be in a position of power.

It’s a shame Akin caved to the left with unending apologies.

It is illegitimate to try to explain this with a crack pot theory that implies that women who are forcible raped, and get pregnant, probably enjoyed it.

His theory said nothing of the kind either when he said or when it was originally advanced by Dr. Willke, head of the NRLC. Both make it explicitly clear they are distinguishing between forcible rape and statutory rape. The notion of enjoyment was not referenced in the slightest. Their theory about pregnancy only applies in a forcible rape, not in a statutory rape where there may be consent from an underage woman.

Give me a break. It shouldn’t be baffling why someone would support a good, conservative public servant who made one innocent mistake that did no actual harm to anyone.

I am not sure if you are just naive or overly self righteous. On second thought, both. Please give me a break on the "one innocent mistake" bit. He is a man of well below average intelligence who has never done anything but represented a tiny district and used that office to employ his wife and son. He is the worst possible combination of being a career politician and being stupid. And he was elected by the McCaskill Campaign in a cross over "operation chaos" strategy. You are so naive to miss all that.

If it wasn’t Akin it would have been somebody else. The press have been desperate to have a republican scandal to cover 24/7 to take the heat off Obama.
If akin withdraws, the press will find a new victim, on and on tip Sept. If Akin goes, does anybody really think it will stop?

Your smearing of a great conservative Congressman is absolutely unwarranted and disgusting. He represented conservative values in his voting record much better than our presidential candidates Romney and Ryan did. He stood up to the Republican party at the times they went off the fiscal rails in the 2000s. He embodied Tea Party values before there was a Tea Party. If every Congressman voted like Akin we'd be far better off as a country than we are now. Likewise, no one with a voting record like his could be considered stupid. Liberals are the ones who vote stupid.

She ran campaign adds attacking all three candidates, including Akin, and criticizing him as "too conservative for Missouri"

With due respect Chipper, you totally missed the psy ops part of the McCaskill campaign. Don't you get what she meant to accomplish by calling him "too conservative" in the middle of a GOP primary? Is this really hard to figure out? No, it's not....

He should have run for the House again and let the Conservatives fight it out.

My position has always been that if a politician says something they should not wave their finger in the air to see hot the democrats react and then go on an apology tour.

There is no doubt in retrospect that he should have stayed put.

This has nothing to do with left, right, abortion or life.

It has all to do about stupid comments by a politician.

Wrong. When a warrior has fought hard on your side for a decade you don't abandon him over one error. Akin's history is totally relevant to how he should be treated now. He's got a career and a record we can look at. Even from a political standpoint, that's something he can point to in the rest of his campaign. It's not like this comment is the only thing he ever did and the only thing he have to judge him by.

Likewise, the Romneys and Roves of the GOP and their subordinate lapdogs Ryan and Rience are all too eager to throw Akin under the bus because he actually stood up to the party establishment to fight for conservative principles that they were abandoning during Bush's tenure. I can guarantee you if it was McCain who made this gaffe, the party would not be throwing him under the bus, but would be happy to give him a second chance.

If Akin goes, does anybody really think it will stop?

Would the term "legitimate rape" be mentioned at all in all 2012 political campaignS, if it were not for Akin?

I trust that other candidates are sharper than Akin, to self-inflict such a mortal wound.

If Akin drops out, the response to pathetic media attempts to keep the issue alive is EASY ... "Oh come on! Akin dropped out because of that. Let's talk about the campaign issues that really matter to the survival of our Country."

But the warrior abandoned YOU with his backpeddling of his own words. You are literally posting from under the bus where you've been thrown by that same "warrior".

Likewise, the Romneys and Roves

I stopped there. I don't see where Romney, Rove or McCain fall into this gaffe since I'm not a Romney or a McCain supporter.

Your pathetic attempt to malign FReeper tsowellfan fails in epic fashion. Here's a tsowellfan post from early on in this mess that definitively showed he wished to give Akin the benefit of the doubt until Akin himself removed all reason to do so on Hannity ... TWICE!

I was one who felt sorry for the man. I still thought he needed to go after the mistake but I gave him the benefit of doubt. After hearing him on Hannity I could hear that he's in it for himself NO MATTER what the end result will be.
