The liberal agenda praises anything different than a normal family. The liberal agenda yearns for a country with no rules or ethics. The media goes along with the notion.

Will- cutting Medicare funding ‘Arithmetic will do that’ (Paul Ryan is capable of the medicare math, why aren’t Democrats?)

IMO the most effective way the Reps can argue the Medicare issue is to raise the IPAB aka Death Panel, that will directly affect seniors now. This non-elected board of 15 members will be making life and death decisions on what Medicare will fund and not fund, reimbursement rates, treatment protocols, etc. And it will take a two-thirds vote of Congress to overturn what they decide. This is the most visceral approach. Sarah Palin understood this better than any, which is why the Death Panel appellation had the Dems spinning like tops and frothing at the mouth. They understood how powerful that agrument is.

I think the arguing over the $716 billion and how many years Medicare (trust fund for Part A) was extended are too down in the weeds for many Americans. The Medicare Trust Fund has been running in the red since 2008. We have been cashing in IOUs to pay for the shortfall and those funds must come from the General Fund that borrows 42 cents of every federal dollar spent. The Medicare Trust fund has no real assets any more than the SS Trust Fund does.

The bottomline is that Medicare is unsustainable and must be reformed. The Reps have a plan, the Dems do not. And Obamacare is law--not a plan-that impacts seniors now with the Death Panel.

Good point. I had not thought of that.

I would like to see the figures for women excluding black women. When 94% of one group votes lockstep with one party, gender is not the issue. It skews the numbers. I understand the Romney is winning the married woman segment and losing singles.

If this had happened to Gov Cristi or any other number of Republicans, they would have come out swinging to compare the Democrat positions versus ours.

Akin should do that and turn the tables on the Democrats and the MSM.

If what Akin said was so bad why hasn’t the press/media covered 0bama’s willingness to kill born children, promote partial birth abortions and his support for gay marriage while attacking the Catholic Church?

I just have nothing else to add to your summary.

Here’s a thought....why not have Romney, or better, Ryan, say the exact words as you’ve typed?

It’s time for this country to discuss this matter is what I’m saying here. More than bringing up a bunch of creative or esoteric solutions, we all need to discuss.

We got all this technology....Twitter, Bloggers, forums....information is instantaneous.

We need some money conscious guy to begin transforming our country from the old way to how it will be in the future.

Technology will do away with social classes more than any social program.

Which liberals, being the sorts of people who are down at the bottom given any sort of competition, do not like, of course.

Romney’s got a big job. I gain nothing by hoping he fails.

The liberal agenda praises anything different than a normal family. The liberal agenda yearns for a country with no rules or ethics.

The progressive agenda (communism) is to destroy the fabric of American Society. A strong two parent family is the basic foundation of any successful society as it is the lowest level of self-government.

The Communists abhor any form of individual freedom and responsibility and these attempts to destroy religion and family range from the child abduction actions of the Reno DHHS Nazis, to the RAT opposition to any pervert control legislation, to the direct attack on Christianity by the complicit entertainment industry and "media", to the open promotion of sex with children.

The media goes along with the notion.

"The media" (which means "in the middle") is no such thing. It is now nothing more than a false narrative propaganda outlet, entirely controlled by radical-Marxists and useful idiots, as is clearly laid out in the Communist Manifesto.

Akin was being a “Mr Know-it-all” and should have known he was getting into something he couldn’t explain, and then he couldn’t remember his sources, and he simply couldn’t tell the reporter ‘I’ll get back to you on that’.

Apologizing for being a “Mr Know-it-all” isn’t enough, unless your on the Democrat-media-free-pass. He should go get help and I would welcome him back when he is well again. For now he needs to be drilled on why he should go, it’s for how he said it as a “Mr Know-it-all” without being able to back it up.

Akin “from what I understand from doctors, it’s really rare”. (That’s a prediction on probability no one could know the answer to, does his doctor sources tell patients ‘you really don’t need a pregnancy test, it’s rare’? That’s part of why it’s also offensive, especially coming from a “Mr Know-it-all”)

Candy gets the Town Hall format. Maybe she will not have much influence. Maybe she will.

I recall Dole being covered by Candy and Clinton by Claire Shipman who always spoke glowingly of her man.

Candy was always frowning, snappy and snarly.

I saw a commentator contratcs the “fairness” (lack thereof) way back then.

[Claire’s booby prize was Carney]

The bottomline is that the politicians don't think the American people can handle the truth. And frankly, the voters prefer it that way. Anyone who tells the truth gets kicked out of office.

Everyone loves Santa Claus and hates Scrooge. I think we will see a lot more retirements from Congress in the not too distant future. Making cuts and difficult decisions will not be any fun compared to being able to dispense funds and favors to constituents. Tough love does not engender popularity or likeability.

Oh Bray! I can’t tell you how glad I am that somebody somewhere is also pondering such an obvious thing!

It’s so politically incorrect to defend Akin and seriously, this is the Republican party with a capital G.

They’ll reach across the aisle with perfectly polished nails, but they will rip off the heads of their own base who would threaten their power. They will then crap down their necks through the bloody stump.

I thought his apology was quite sincere. I’m no expert but I’ve lived a life. Don’t need the political elite, who live in a totally different atmosphere, telling me what’s sincere.

If he’d had an insincere apology, as we the peons determine, maybe he shouldn’t be forgiven.

Beyond that, what, we’re not allowed to apologyze and admit our lessons learned?

This ain’t how we do it out here in la la land where we carry this country on our backs.

The pubs.....always got to play by the DEMS’ rules.

...If what Akin said was so bad why hasn’t the press/media covered...

I hate to laugh at an honest question, but that one's got me ROFLMAO.

Especially coming from somebody with the Denver/Boulder media in the same time zone.

(Not that "my" Montana media is any less a pimp for any lib they happen across....)

I just read or watch enough to figure out which pitch they're throwing and otherwise ignore 'em.

Do you happen to recall what the media was saying about Wisconsin right up until the votes got counted????

So the media is helping Obama destroy the country but not reporting the truth. They are such a biased bunch of militants.

Agree that is also part of the solution along with selling health insurance across state lines and making better use of Health Savings Accounts. Special interests have been blocking many of these needed changes. The trial lawyers have been supporting the Dems big time for many years.

As long as you understand that I was saying the Tea Party movement has NOT seemed to have touched the elites...

“I don’t know that the rise of the Tea Party has changed much at the elitist top of the Republican establishment.”

And certainly Boehner caving is a good example, I agree.

Actually just Boehner himself...

Our side has not figured it out yet that in an election you either win or lose.

Simple, accurate, and right on.

“It takes a village to raise a child.” The Dems would like to see all kids placed in day care centers where they can be indoctrinated before being put into the public schools, which are also indoctrination centers.
