TAMPA, Fla. -- Rich Weissmann has been a Republican for many years but had never been to a political convention. That changed when he arrived in Tampa this week.
"Quite frankly, it did not occur to me as a gay person to attend a Republican convention, and today it does," said Mr. Weissman, 58, of Portland, Ore. "Today, I feel it's an important thing to do. The Republican Party has become significantly more open, significantly more accepting."

The second law of homosexuality:
To the mentally healthy (heterosexual); sex is something you do.
To the mentally diseased ('homosexual'); sex is everything you are.
Actually, considering the leftward drift of the GOP and the fact that its soon -to-be nominee seems to love sodomites, I’d say these people are what future Republicans will be.
Now, are they conservatives? Of course not, but that’s a different animal.
Homosexuals are like democrats - they want to change the entire world to operate by their rules. Both groups believe that only their beliefs, only their standards are valid. Everyone else should compromise their beliefs because they are obviously wrong.
The republican party must stop this creeping transition into becoming just a bad copy of the democrat party.
Homosexuals already have a political party.
They are meeting in Charlotte next week.
Isn't it amazing that Dems keep playing the "Romney, Ryan and the GOP hate women & gays" cards when the Party keeps drifting away from the social conservative ideals that prompt such criticisms?
I think Mr. Weissmann wants to let everyone know he is gay....
Oh yes the gays will be front and center...
Just not Conservatives and pro-lifers...
They arent welcome...
In a sane world/Party these degenerates wouldn't even be allowed a place at the debate table. That they are even given a seat is a victory for sodomy.
The same thing is happening in the Southern Baptist Convention, of all places. In their last convention, the SBC leader agreed to meet with the absolute worst of the sodomite activists, who were protesting the Christian denomination for condemning homosexuality. What did they think they were going to "discuss?" Hardened, conscience-seared sinners who not only refuse to stop their abominable behavior, but seek to claim God's blessing on it have nothing to tell us, and visa versa.
Of course not... they wish we'd just go away.
Two words - assless pants.
lmao ;-)
I don’t even want to see the straight “members.”
I'm sure the Presidential candidate will take care of that.
I didn’t know that was happening at the SBC. I don’t think there’s any sanity left. Very disheartening.
To be completely clear, the SBC didn’t budge on their position on homosexuality. What was unprecedented and horrific was that they gave the sodomy lobby a place at the table of “dialog.” They are obviously softening. The sodomites know this, that is why they claimed victory, regardless of the outcome of the meeting. The meeting itself was an indication of this insidious change; it would never have happened 20 years ago.
According to the Baptist Press:
“A coalition of homosexual leaders and their allies met for more than 30 minutes Tuesday with Southern Baptist Convention President Bryant Wright, with the leaders demanding an apology from the SBC and Wright refusing to budge, saying that Scripture is clear on the issue.
“The remarkable meeting cordial the entire time took place between the morning and afternoon sessions of the SBC in Wrights annual meeting office at the Phoenix Convention Center.
“The nine-person coalition included representatives of the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists, Faith in America and Truth Wins Out. They protested outside the convention hall and requested to deliver petitions to Wright, who decided to turn the event into a dialogue. Several members of the media also attended.”
At least Wright didn’t apologize——this time.
Yes, there’s a lot of softening going on all over, and I can see the eventual outcome.
