A New Jersey city that reported a murder rate of 46.8 percent per 100,000 people in 2010 is now without a police department.
Camden, N.J., often dubbed the most dangerous city in the country, is disbanding its police department in a bid to shave millions of dollars off the annual budget, FoxNews.com reported Sunday.

Camden is undoubtedly the worst city here in NJ. Having it called the worst in the nation doesn't surprise me.

46.8 percent, eh? Sounds like a self-solving problem in that everyone will soon be dead.

The writer obviously doesn’t understand statistics.
46.8 percent per 100,000 people would be 46,800 people being killed per 100,000. :-)
I think it’s just 46.8 per 100,000, not percent!

But I am sure they still have “diversity” programs and giant waste disposal contracts by people who visit “Da ‘Bing”

I know. The data show actually 46 people per 100,000.
46% would mean that someone(s) was really busy.

Instead of building a new prison they could surround the place with an electrified fence.

Some on the extreme John Birch right are attacking the very idea of police departments, pointing out that they didn't exist prior to Sir Robert Peel.
This should make them feel really good.

not oen beauracrat or administrator? only cops huh..that’ll generate a hue and cry to raise taxes and stop laying off policemen. create a crises that will get people running to city hall to have their taxes raised.
adn the cops will get the blame, not the beauracrats or administrators (cronies) who were never in any danger. government grows, liberty shrinks...

Deputize every able bodied citizen in Camden and put out the word that deadly force is authorized when dealing with the thugs.
