Here in upstate New York (and the Northeast) many small towns were heavily damaged by Hurricane Irene and those affected certainly didn’t get any better assistance from the Federal Government than did NOLA. The people themselves are still righting themselves with the assistance of the State Government. The difference between Upstate New York and NOLA is that they did not have stupid mayors, like NAGIN and state governors, like BLANCO, as their leaders and they are used to being self sufficient, not looking for welfare daily handouts from the governments.
