Ann Romney: 'This Man Will Lift Up America!' (Excerpts from Ann's convention speech)
Weekly Standard ^ | August 28, 2012

Posted on 08/28/2012 3:50:04 PM PDT by GOPinCa

The Romney campaign released these excerpts of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa: “Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.

“I want to talk not about what divides us, but what holds us together as an American family. I want to talk to you tonight about that one great thing that unites us, that one thing that brings us our greatest joy when times are good, and the deepest solace in our dark hours.

“Tonight I want to talk to you about love. …

“Mitt's dad never graduated from college. Instead, he became a carpenter.

“He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.

“When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together. …

“I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a ‘storybook marriage.’ Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

If you don’t have them down pat yet, take this time to study / take courses in the FDA regulation system. Knowing them is essential to getting a job in bio-engineering, as I know from first-hand experience.

Good luck, and happy hunting! I know it’s tough, but soldier on anyways.....

I don’t know who all your imaginary “revolutionaries” are, but I think that people buy guns of various sorts, not “ swap-meet pop guns”.

I’m just praying that Anne says that she has ALWAYS been proud of America.

I can see that unless the person is a “true” conservative in your eyes, you won't vote for him, so I guess you are voting for Obama, sad.

Romney is a business man who created jobs (Staples !), knows how to run a business and with Paul Ryan will win this election. They will bring smaller government and less regulations. They will bring spending under control and reduce our deficit. I don't think any of us want big government, like the EPA for example, to rule our lives.

Also, let's set the record straight about Bush and taxes and big spending. Did you know that during the early years under Bush, there were over 4 years of positive job growth? Did you know that unemployment went down to 4.4% by the end of 2006? Did you know that with the Bush tax cuts, revenue actually went up. From 2004 to 2007, federal tax revenues increased by $785 billion, the largest four-year increase in American history.

One thing you probably don't know is that the financial crisis started right after the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007. They spent all the revenues and then some. Remember, spending bills start in the House not by the President. Oh well, facts do hurt.

Romney might not be the “true” conservative in your eyes, but he is a lot better then Obama and his administration.

Nuff Said !!

Thanks for the advice. My dad used to work in pharmaceuticals before he got laid off, so I he was able to help me out with that a bit.

One of my friends who graduated the year before me finally got a full-time job 18 months later, so I still have some hope.

I guess the Mooch’s qualifications are so much better than Anne’s. Go ahead and vote her back in and watch her spend your tax dollars on herself and her topshelf vodka, Beyonce tickets, extravagant trips for herself and her girls and mother and the huge entourage of hanger oners. Have her tell your children what to eat. Have her cover the gayness of her husband and have affairs with SS agents. She can invite more thugs and anti-Americans to the WH —the list goes on and on, but Ann Romney now that’s really bad.

I agree with you there. Romney was NOT my choice and when I had the chance in the primary to vote my choice, I DID. But my choice was not the choice of the majority of Republicans who bothered to vote in the primaries, so I am stuck with who came out on top. Unless we want another four years of the Obamanation to totally demolish what is left of this fine country, we had better put our big boy/girl pants on and get out and vote for the ONLY one right now that has a chance to unseat the demolisher. If after four years Romney betrays all the promises he has made, then we can work on who will take his place. But for right here, right now, we MUST evict Obama. The genuine conservatives we can still elect for the House and Senate seats will help to curb whatever damage might happen with Romney in the White House.

We had our chance to nominate the BEST candidate for the job - and to be honest with you, I was NOT 100% pleased with ANY of the ones running - but we have to make do with what cards we are dealt. Throwing the hand away only gives our country over to the socialist/communist/liberal/America hating/pro-death/pro-homosexual/Christian hating/Muslim loving destroyer-in-chief who will remake America into another third world dictatorship with HIM in power for life. I CANNOT let that happen as long as I still have some say in the matter.

“I agree with you, I just don’t understand it. We are going down the “hole” in debt, government is all over us, more regulations, etc. and some on this site just bash Romney, especially Ann. I don’t get it.”

I do. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Ann Romney will be speaking very shortly after 10 pm, possibly right at 10 am.

I think Ann is great and she’ll be a terrific First Lady.

Clarify that accusation, n00b. To what ‘boss’ are you referring?

“Join the military. Do something with your life. Complaining is not a way to go. Hard workers are the winners. Get out of the basement and go to work doing something.”

No no no no, remember what Mittens says, supporting his candidacy and campaigning on his behalf is truly serving your country. Ha ha ha! And you thought it was military service.

Have you seen the charming video of her supporting abortion?

No, I haven't, where is it and when was it made? Did you see the interview with Laura Bush supporting abortion rights? That one I DID see, but Laura wasn't running the country and neither will Ann.

Mitt Romney. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss (Obama). Not sure how you saw Jim in that, when I was responding to a poster saying he didn’t understand why conservatives weren’t supporting Mittens.

I would be in it already if I could have. The Surgeon General isn’t going to grant me the first medical waiver for a lethal food allergy because I asked nicely and REALLY REALLY want to join.
