Isaac and Hate-Speech Republicans

By Mr. Curmudgeon:

When it looked like tropical storm Isaac was ready to strike the Republican Convention meeting in Tampa, Florida, many on the left were gleeful. "Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean ..." read a re-Tweet from actress Ellen Barkin.

On the website Democratic Underground, a loyal reader and Tampa resident, commented, "I say God send us a direct hit, category 5. Losing my house would be worth having the con's glitterati have to deal with this."

The Huffington Post even noted that Congress passed legislation - during the recent budget battles - that "helps victims of hurricanes, tornadoes and floods before they occur"; a pre-victim disaster "investment." The story went on to say that Tea Party congresspersons and today's GOP vice presidential pick, Paul Ryan, objected to the government largess.

When Isaac, now a category 1 hurricane, turned and headed for New Orleans, actor Samuel Jackson Tweeted that he did not understand "God's plan" and fumed, "GOP spared by Isaac! NOLA [New Orleans] prolly f-----  again!"

And so New Orleans is in the crosshairs of Mother Nature once again.

When Hurricane Katrina struck the Crescent City in 2005, it claimed the lives of 1,577 in Louisiana alone, and President George W. Bush was roundly criticized for not sending aid fast enough. Katrina is estimated to have cost U.S. taxpayers around $108 billion.

In May of the following year, New York magazine profiled storm victim Theon Johnson. Seven months after federal authorities flew the homeless Johnson to New York City and placed him in temporary residence at a Holiday Inn, hotel management served the former New Orleans citizen with an occupancy termination notice. Johnson refused to leave. While awaiting a court's decision, the story noted that Johnson had received $9,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). "He spent it all on booze, cigarettes, some clothes, and food - partying, mostly," the magazine reported.

"I spent my money just the way I wanted," Johnson told New York magazine, "and I think [FEMA] should send me some more." Theon Johnson was a pre-disaster victim of a system that encourages perpetual, life-sapping dependence.

That begs the question: Why is the left so upset that New Orleans may be in line for additional federal assistance?

Could it be that the cost in lives and to the human soul is too high?

Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean ...

I grew up in the Jim Crow South and I used to hear the same kind of crap, only it was worded a little different and directed at a different group of people.

Now in 2012 the elites, speak in the tongues of the ignorant and intolerant..

That wasn’t the eye.

“...However, the worst property damage occurred in coastal areas, such as all Mississippi beachfront towns, which were flooded over 90% in hours, as boats and casino barges rammed buildings, pushing cars and houses inland, with waters reaching 6–12 miles (10–19 km) from the beach.”

I’ve got to admit, I couldn’t blame the libs for having a world class case of Schadenfreude if it had hit directly. If the situation were reversed there WOULD be people here putting a theological interpretation to it.

The old hag whose eyes are too far apart got one thing right. They’re pro life. And, of course, she had to throw racist in there.

None of these left wing Hollywood folks would ever go anywhere near a ghetto. All liberals for that matter. And that includes Samuel “too many snakes” Jackson.

It must burn the butts off those lying SOB’s to ponder that, had Katrina struck one year earlier, they might have inaugurated “President John Forbes Kerry” the following January...they probably reflect on that after six or seven martinis;)

Katrina made landfall at Buras, Louisiana

When Katrina made landfall, she started a drift to the east, right along the coast. NOLA was always west of the eye. What happened in NOLA, when the levees gave out, happened on a much grander scale across the whole Mississippi coast and we got the brunt of the winds.

Buras, where a great deal of Shellfish harvesting takes place had a 30 foot wall of water destroy the shrimp and and oyster boats.

New Orleans, where they were holding the Southern Decadence was destroyed by FLOOD and the Federal (Roe v. Wade) levees failed.

Biloxi where they have Gambling, prostitution, homosexuals and immodestly dressed women on the beaches was destroyed by the great waves.

Oh my - someone who has not been enlightened by the New Covenant and insists on living in the Old Covenenant so he can make judgement and attribute it to God...I bet you call Romney a nut...
