Clint was Clint....the bad a^#, pragmatic (like all Conservatives), bare-bones logical and ‘Ga Ga about the United States of America’ Clint... that’s why he was there.

What’s to criticize?

Eastwood hit a nerve because the Left reacts to “freaky”.

I would let this simmer down.

Clint spoke like any 82 year old person speaks. A bit hesitant, as they process their thoughts and what they want to say.

Are the Democrats making fun of seniors? This isn’t very nice - sounds like they are starting a war on seasoned citizens.

I wouldn’t regard that as bias. Eastwood was a bit bizarre. He wasn’t a catastrophe. He was amusing at times, and made a good point or two. He’s completely irrelevant to Romney, the election, or anything else substantive ... and likely would’ve been just as irrelevant if he’d hit a homerun.

But, it was weird enough that a fully unbiased media (were such a thing possible) would’ve taken notice.

Could be.

In any case, it would not be shocking, because lack of respect for anyone and anything NOT Liberal is their traditional style.

As I noted before, Clint’s style is calculated and deliberate... always was.

Why is anyone surprised that an intelligent and muture person who always WAS measured in his speach, would be any different in their 80’s?

Obama has never been mocked in his life....until Clint hammered him last night.

democrats are ticked off because Clint was so contemptuous of obama.

He was still more coherent than Obama’s foreign policy.

“Are the Democrats making fun of seniors?”

Yes they are making fun of seniors. They are known for attacking the weakest among us. They murder defenseless babies in the womb and tell sick seniors to “take a pill”. This may backfire on them.

It’s too bad Clint used an empty chair. I would have used an empty suit.

I couldn’t watch all of Eastwood’s performance. It was too painful. He did look old (which, at 82, he is getting close to) and it looked like he was having trouble keeping his thoughts together and on track.

I also knew that his line about “... I can’t tell Romney that...” would be the pull quote from the speech.

Not sure if it was included because I didn’t see the whole thing, but would have loved to have seen him end his speech in his best Clint Eastwood voice “Obama, get off our lawn.”

Eastwood knew he was going to take a lot of abuse for this.

He is probably like my 85 year old Papa!

Dad has said he figures by the time a guy is his age, who cares what others think, I am going to tell it like it is because there is nothing left to hurt me that father time hasn’t already dished out to me. Soooooo...let er rip!

Bingo. The office of the presidency should be respected. In obama’s case, he has shown no regard for the office with his executive orders, his security leaks, his passing of the buck to anybody and everybody but himself. The man, obama, deserves no respect. Clint gave him none (except for that one comment about Gitmo.)

Obama has never been mocked in his life....until Clint hammered him last night.

That's the vulnerability of a narcissistic personality. They can't deal with being laughed at. Enough of it would send one over the edge into a full psychotic break.

It would be fun to watch, except for the fact that Bam-Bam and his Clown Posse control our nuclear arsenal.

Seriously, can such a Captain Queeg moment (a la Humphrey Bogart in the Caine Mutiny) be far away? Narcisissists don’t deal well with rejection. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see a public meltdown at some point.

The crowd loved him because he is such an iconic symbol in our culture. It got them all pumped up before the featured speeches. He did have some good lines too. I think he makes a better actor and director than comedian, which he was trying to be last night. He's kind of a slow talker, brief with words kind of guy anyway, so his rambling may have been part of that. But he is 82 years old so you have to expect a little slow down in his abilities. The White House posted this photo of Obama in response to Clint Eastwood's routine last night at the RNC convention: Photobucket This is my take on the same photo: Photobucket
