CNSNews.com) - Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), endorsing Mitt Romney for president Thursday night in Tampa, said Romney is the man who can successfully change the direction of the country -- which is going "backwards" under President Obama, he said.
"Our problem with President Obama isn't that he's a bad person. By all accounts, he too is a good husband, and a good father -- and thanks to lots of practice, a pretty good golfer. Our problem is he's a bad president," Rubio said.
The senator noted that the new slogan for the Obama presidential campaign is "Forward."
"A government that spends $1 trillion more than it takes in. An $800 billion stimulus that created more debt than jobs. A government intervention into health care paid for with higher taxes and cuts to Medicare. Scores of new rules and regulations.
"These ideas don't move us 'Forward,' they take us 'Backwards.'
"These are tired and old big government ideas -- ideas that people come to America to get away from. Ideas that threaten to make America more like the rest of the world, instead of helping the world become more like America."
Rubio said on Obama's watch, "the only 'change' is that 'hope' has been hard to find.
"Now millions of Americans are insecure about their future. But instead of inspiring us by reminding us of what makes us special, he divides us against each other. He tells Americans they're worse off because others are better off. That people got rich by making others poor.
"Hope and Change has become Divide and Conquer," Rubio said.
"No matter how you feel about President Obama, this election is about your future, not his. And it's not simply a choice between a Democrat and a Republican. It's a choice about what kind of country we want America to be."

Agreed. There’s every indication that he is a bad person in many ways. This is not unusual for Marxists and corrupt politicians in general. For one thing, wanting to accrue power by any means necessary and then use the power to force people to do what you want, rather than what they want, is in itself a “bad person” quality.

I will gladly balance the current narrative of “he’s not a bad person” (notice how that’s changed from the really pukey “he’s a nice guy”?) with Eastwood’s “well, maybe he IS, when you look at some of those ads he’s put out”. REMEMBER, it’s important to have BALANCE is these narratives!

So what? Rubio is not trying to get your vote for Romney. He already has it. (Unless you plan to sit at home or vote third-party and let that bad person regain the White House.)
Rubio and Romney are trying to get the votes of those that voted for Obama idealistically thinking that Obama was a post-racial, post-partisan candidate. You might think that is a load of fetid dingo’s kidneys (I certainly do), but that is how about five to ten percent of those who voted for Obama actually felt.
So how do you get those people to change their votes? Not by calling them stupid by pointing out that Obama is evil. Rather, by painting Obama as a nice guy who is over his head. That gives them a rationale for changing their vote. It wasn’t that they were lied to (which means they were stupid for believing a liar). It is just that Obama could not deliver on what he promised because — despite his best intentions - he was not up to the job.
This is called a polite fiction.
Let me put it this way. You see someone standing on the ledge of a building, just outside the window, four stories up. Which approach is more likely to get him to get him back in the building rather than jumping:
1. Tell him “Geexe. Do you know what a moron you look like out there? You might as well paint a big sign on your forehead that says ‘Big-time Loser’ - ‘cause that is what you will be if you jump, dummy.”
2. Tell him “Look - what every caused you to get out there it cannot be as bad as you think it is. Come on back inside, and let’s talk about it over coffee. You just had bad information. We can fix it.”
And remember your safety is also tied into the decision these first-term Obama voters make. If enough of them jump (vote for Obama), he gets re-elected.

Exactly. Republicans seem to be compelled to always preface criticism with compliment. It is weak. Rubio and many pubbies like him, give the impression that they and Obama have the same values and goals, it’s just that Obama isn’t effective. What spineless crap.
