I can't speak for the 'establishment', but I don't believe Romney wants to alienate or dismiss the Tea Party.

I don't know how to get this message to Romney, but he's GOTTA show us some love. If he doesn't, he's going to face a tougher 2012, and -- if successful in 2012 -- a much MUCH tougher 2016.

Laz, my cousin Terry was married to a Romney, The Marion Branch, Georges Brother. She was a sweet young thing with a Mexican look, even you would have hit it, I most certainly would have.

Her father was AG in Utah and represented what is wrong in Utah Politics, Talked the Talk and Devolved into a RINO.

So then why change long established rules that encourage grassroots participation at the state level because of them. They were easily ostracized under the existing rules.

Well cool, at least he's pliable. Obama doubles-down in the face of vast and rabid disapproval for his policies. That right there makes Mitt more attractive.

Just to clarify, I think the rule change was a monster mistake/power grab and I fully believe it was designed to castrate the TEA Party.

My post on the Paulbots was just to point out that the GOP can rulemake a thousand ways to wednesday. The Paulbots do not care.

So if the change was to target Paulbots, it was a wasted effort. They will just hose up some other aspect to get their way or just abandon the GOP period. The one thing they will not do is go along with ‘punishment’.

Just got an anonymous tip, who might go public, that this was NOT intended to slap down Tea Party people. That this thing got out of hand. That things might be changing.

Difficult times because we have a weak person to rally behind; that's the problem for some. The grassroots could not even put pressure on the party to have Palin ( a reformer) speak so how are we going to persuade Romney to listen to us. She was invited to speak though had to agree to basically say what Romney's camp would allow her to say. Sorry, I think you are being sold false hope. He is just a master of the dirty deals as well. He has to be laughing all of the way back to his blue bus. I will never forget when I wrote letters, made phone calls to stop the bail outs. Even had a conversation with the current speaker's office. They said to me it was already a done deal while millions of people thought they had hope and time to stop the bail outs. I use to be pro RNC for my country. Something happened to me. I love my country. Good luck on your efforts to guide a liberal politician who has been that way for most of his life. I can't seem to motivate my inner being to follow nor trust him. If he wins, you guys pull him along. I hope it works better than we pulled Bush(getting no child left behind-the patriot act etc), because you have the same thinking going to be running things long term. Imo.

I cannot understand how the PTB were bling to the effect this would have on the TEA party/grassroots. I could easier believe that ti ‘got out of hand’. But it ‘got out of hand’ because the GOP underestimated and cannot control the backlash.
