Nope .. never heard of Mendon, but I led a very sheltered, cloistered, family-occasion-only life growing up. Years later in my career, I’d ask where that person’s town was in MA and they’d say 25 miles from Springfield. I’m from Agawam, 15 mins from Spfld .. and never heard of it.
Now, I know Southwick .. that’s very much in the range of my neck of the woods. Is that near Mendon?

Southwick is located in Mendon. Not many people have heard of our little bitty town, but they do know Southwick Zoo. It’s one in the same!
I’m not surprised though. I grew up not far from this town and I had never heard about it. We keep a low profile!

Really, I grew up in Springfield and I could live in Longmeadow forever...but I would never be “from” Longmeadow.
